Probably best to download it as soon as you can.

Always a good idea to keep the old hak for just a little after the new ones go live in case the worst should happen and it has to be reverted.Fifty wrote:Oh, it is already downloaded, I just hate keeping the old haks any longer than I need to.

Best solution for dynamic orcs was to use the half-orc model.terror2001 wrote:Will it have the dynamic models for PC Orcs, Ogres, Kobolds, etc., already included?
The half-ogre model has clipping problems and many people dont like the way it walks. However, I would take these problems in a heartbeat, if it ment Gak could be seen in full armor, with an equipped shield, and be able to use CEP seating objects. It may sound weird, but I spent 2 hours sitting on Hala just for the novelty of seeing Gak in a chair.
The problem with dynamic kobolds, shaahesk, gnolls, goblins, (and any other static custom races I forgot) is that there are no female models. As a result, female characters will be "invisible". Last I heard, this is why those models have not been updated yet.

I never understood the need for female Shaahesk and Kobold models.
They are reptiles, with no external genetalia, mammary glands etc.
You shouldn't be able to tell them apart without a detailed physical examination, especially if it's wearing clothes.
How many people can tell what sex an alligator is just by looking at it?
I love the Hala Half-ogre model by the way. That bumbling Gorilla walk is great
Great to hear the new hak's coming in anyway. I've been looking forward to scribing the new scrolls for ages. Great work.

Many species of reptiles do have differences in the sexes. Usually with males having brighter and more varied colorings, larger dewlaps (extendable throat skin), crests, spines.gwydion2 wrote:I never understood the need for female Shaahesk and Kobold models.

That would be possible to make skin colorings now, which would be pretty cool. But it's a lot of work setting up new dynamic models, which is why the rest of the PC races have never yet been made dynamic. Even what we have now is incomplete (and bad looking without armor) and can't be officially used for PCs unless some form of female models are made.

Yes and female models in the NWN tradition usually means, make it smaller, give it breasts and long hair, DUH, a biologists nightmare.Kinarr wrote:Many species of reptiles do have differences in the sexes. They even gave female reptilians breasts so obviously someone there failed bio 101 in highschool.
On the other hand, this being a fantasy game and all, plus as an aside how many female shaahesk, kobolds and goblins have been made for that matter. I have seen many and they are all male. So why don't you do the "sereg" thing (and those had perfectly fine female models

Re: More Avlis Haks!
Is that support for new radial abilities that already recently went in, or are there new radial abilities coming soon? If the latter, what are they? Or, is that too spoilerish still?MadK@ wrote:- Added support for new radial abilities

I agree. The dynamic humanoid race forms seem to be getting hung-up on relatively unimportant snags.Li'll Divvil wrote: On the other hand, this being a fantasy game and all, plus as an aside how many female shaahesk, kobolds and goblins have been made for that matter. So why don't you do the "sereg" thing (and those had perfectly fine female models) and disable the creation of female kobolds, goblins, and shaahesk, and pretend the females are busy laying eggs or some such. Even all the NPC shaahesk, kobolds and goblins I have seen are male.
Just solve the problem by using male models for males and females. Some reptiles have females that are larger and more "masculine" than their males, anyway. Might make sense for both to use male voices too.Yes and female models in the NWN tradition usually means, make it smaller, give it breasts and long hair, DUH, a biologists nightmare.
