Post by Lafferty » Sat Dec 13, 2003 5:30 pm

NEAT... i didnt try it since im at work here and lack more than 64 Client to try ;)

Might be interesting... though already 30 players can generate a hell of a monster lag (TM)

Considering Avlis' servers usually die around 26 people... yeah, seems like a bad idea... :?
<Sili> I've seen septic tanks with less shit in them than Fuzz.

<Ronnin> damm not even a kiss??
<Chasmania> Kiss Fuzz? I'd rather fellate a goat.

<Chasmania> there are many roads to Rome..they just picked a shit filled alley full of scabby hookers and bums.

Not practical.
Bioware put that limit in for a reason.
Unless you want to hack the hell out of nwserver.exe and make it actually
CAPABLE of smoothly handling over 64 players, then theres no sense in it.
Even if you had a top of the line server to put it on, I doubt nwserver.exe
would handle more than 64 very well.

Of course, the linux version of the dedicated servers handles up to 96 players by default :-)

64 players is not an option for even moderately complex PWs right now, but 2-3 years down the road the computers will be fast enough to handle even more, so this is a good thing.

Ok, i will rant this thread abit.
Where the hell happened to all the players, Avlis has been reduced to 10 people playing over 5 different servers. How frustrating is that!?
We need more GMT +1 players, and everyone else:
Drop whatever you are doing, you are needed online.
Besides, sleep is overrated.

Har har! I've been online quite a bit, breaking into cities, harassing people, and generally having a blast.

The real question is why do a lot of cool people log in at 3 AM? Is there something cool about 3 AM that I don't know about? Its not a big deal given my lack of sleep schedule, but it is funny to watch the server population triple. Guess it must be all the Auzzies

For an Avlis player, GMT +2 sucks like [insert something funny]. Apparently everything happens when I am either a) studying b) sleeping. If I got a Euro every time I log on to hear that Mikona was attacked earlier..

That's why some GMT+2 players play at nights ;)

So Arakian is right, sleep is overrated :P
