Avlis internet issues resolved
After dealing with lots of high level techs from Cablevision, we were able to convince them that they had a problem with their hardware somewhere along the line. I just got a phone call from them and they told me that the issue was fixed around 0000 GMT last night. Please confirm that you are not experiencing the same lag issues as the past few days where your connections would cut out every 70 seconds or so.

Great job to all involved.
This required ISP, scripting, database, networking and virus detection to be scrutinized and in some cases fixed. Although it was a real pain, the effort was actually a good exercise in evaluation. Obviously the main problem was the ISP. However, getting the worms off the servers, squashing some script bugs, running NWNX Profiler against our systems and more will agregate into big gains all around.
Thanks, Team!

Once again, the Team are astounding.
That is awesome - even on my crappy 56k Dialup connection.
Thanks to all concerned.

Life is never as bad as you think it is, although that doesn't help at the time.

I still get an occasional hiccup, but I know it is on my end. What exactly did you tell your cable techs to convince them it was on their end? Ever since I moved my connection has not been what it should be quality wise. My speed is still there but I tend to loose pings and packets at various times.
BTW ... I must say I continue to be impressed by the level of quality that the team puts forth and the great rp from the other players that make this such an awsome PW.

I didn't have to tell the cable people much. It was obvious. Whenever they would pingflood me, they would get a packet loss exactly every 70 seconds. The hardest part was just getting them to stare at something for that long, because their natural response is to look at something for 2 seconds and say it's working fine.
When I unplugged the network from the modem, so only the modem itself was connected to the internet, it still had a ping loss, which means there was nothing wrong with our network. At that point they really decided they better take a look.
