Re: Bloody Heatwave
I bet ice in a mesh bag hanging in front of the fan works even better. more surface area = more cool.

My wife keeps wanting to open the curtains...drives me nuts. Also, they sell window fans with different directions on each fan. You can stay cooler if you set the bottom to in and the top to out, rather than both in. Long term over the short term every time.

Gah!!! Did you tell her that it was her turn?othotbail wrote:I got home from work about a week ago at 2 in the afternoon and the wife said " It seems to be a bit cooler today why don't you go mow the front lawn." I have a heat sensor on the front porch in the shade which tells me the temperature outside and inside. Outside it was 104.

I like the ice in the bowl, Bel. Interesting idea.

I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello?), but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voice-mail. What did you do after I didn't answer? Drop the phone and run away?

house was about 85 (da da da dun)
compressor was busted (da da da dun)
didn't think i'd survive (da da da dun)

I grabbed my toolkit (da da da dun)

Fixed it right up AND NOW MY HOUSE IS AT 72 yeaaaaah
hmmm...typed that first sentance and got a blues feel...anyway, the capacitor blew on my heat pump and I fixed it today. I rock and stuff.
