CEP cloaks

Post by Levis Pie » Sat Jun 23, 2007 12:29 am

is there anyway to disable the CEP cloaks from showing up? i checked out the bioware forums and all i could dig up was changing the cloaks via the toolset to no-appearance, that was with CEP version 2.0 though. any ideas?

*edit*

by CEP cloaks, i meant the ones that came in the 1.68 update.

Not exactly an answer to your question, but:
If you wish to remove such a cloak from a garment (be it plot), the proper instrument was issued to all guilds following the update.
(PM me if you cannot find a helping hand)

i meant the (almost) new visible cloaks, ie: cloak of resistance +1, cloak of uberpwnageness, etc.. i preferred the capes/cloaks attached to clothing better than the ones now, and haven't been able to figure out a way to disable them, if it's possible without having CEP v. 2.0 (got that impression from the bioware/CEP forums).

and those "proper instruments" were never given to the Brigade *shakes fist* :P

As far as I am aware the new cloaks cannot be disabled (though there may be an overide someplace).

I'm kind of suprised though that you prefered the old cloaks. To me they were like planks of wood staped to your back whereas the new cloaks flow with movement.

If you use an override to do this, it only affects your client. Everybody else will still see the cloak's new models.

The CEP cloaks still flow. The only difference I've noticed was that the new cloak models fold up when you sit. FWIW, I still like the floor length CEP one and use it from time to time during social (non-combat) situations. I'd love to have that one converted to a cloak model cloak.

*remembers when everyone wore cloaks that didn't show*

The lolths and tattered cloak appearances can be made invisible by dying all the materials platinum, but it would be cheesy to do that without at least a CEP cloak as a replacement. A few things use the lolths model, but the tattered is harder to find.

I still have a soft spot for the old CEP cloaks, and would love to see some made into the new ones, but I don't think they would move same. The old ones flowed much nicer in my opinion, but didn't do all the extra things the new ones do. Besides, I can't find a good looking new cloak that works with a black or white tux out of the lot. :) There is always option 2. Just unequip your cloak if you are a fashion nut.

Can someone post the override so I don't have to look at my goofy cloak? I don't care if it hurts other people's eyes.. just sparin' mine.

well, i did find an override, but it only affected the single player, not the CEP mod that i made, so im guessing when i log in it'll still show on Avlis, haven't checked yet.

*edit* yeah, they still show up on Avlis :( maybe i need to put it somewhere besides the override?

Actually, I think the high collared Fortification cloak, looks good with a tux, if dyed appropriately. Produces a sort of 1900 gentleman on his way to the opera, look. If only there was a way to wear a top hat. :)
