Need help with HAKS *reward offered*

Post by Hawkshield » Tue Feb 13, 2007 9:33 pm

Hi, I'm new to Avlis and need the haks they post here for the world.
Even though I have a great satellite connection, sometimes due to weather I get bumped and it destroys any very large downloads.

What I'm hoping and at the suggestion of the Avlis team, was to ask about here on the forum for someone who can take those Haks and send them to me via YouSendIt.com or SendSpace.com.

The clincher is I need to have them in 50mb increments in RAR format so they can get put together with Win-Rar.

For the person who does help me, I'd be willing to create a custom avatar portrait of your character to use as you see fit, not a problem since I am a prof. SF/F D&D Illustrator.

Hope to hear form someone soon so I might join the world in its great adventures!
preferably someone who lives in the U.S.A.
Sincerely
V Shane

I just installed nwn on my new desktop and have all the haks sitting in a folder on my comp. It would be easy enough to rar em or create a self extractor and start uploading it.

First off though, which ones do you already have and would this only be the largest haks?

An other possibility would be that you install the game and update to 1.68 and I will make a rar of my haks/textures/tlk folders containing all the necessary haks for the 10 avlis servers, tairis na dur, hala and ysgard and islands of the lost. Gives you everything you need for total immersion RP.

EDIT---disclaimer added: When using these haks you accept that I am NOT responsible for your total loss of free time and outside-avlis social life---

shoot me a PM with what you need exactly and I am willing to give it a go tonight when I get home, I might not get all of it uploaded tonight, but I can get you started at least.

oh and I am on the eastcoast in Beantown.

May I suggest that you look into programs that can resume paused/stopped downloads such as FlashGet?

They're mighty useful even with a sturdy connection :)

Keep in mind you can only resume if the server supportst it. That said, I think I remember being able to resume on NWVault, which I think has the biggest haks on the list.

Could someone please test to see if you can resume from my Mirror?

It is http://wiki.avlis.org/Nighthawk4_File_Mirror

Thanks.

The biggest problem will be the CEP files, which I don't have on my Mirror. That is a huge file, so resuming might be the only option with that.

Well, actually, the best option would be for someone to burn all the Haks onto a CD and post it to the Player - preferably someone in the US. Any offers for that please? :?
Life is never as bad as you think it is, although that doesn't help at the time.

Li'll Divvil I PMed you back , thank you. I really look forward to controling the downloading.

I do have Flashget, but alot of servers won't allow re-establishing the connection, that, and if you attempt to many re-connects, you get throttled bandwidth from the server (you are seen as an attack of sorts).

I've been using SendSpace for my clients and they love it.

Silly question I know but where might I find the haks for the other CoPap worlds?

Thanks.
