Newbie question: PM

When someone says "PM <username>", does it mean PM that username on the forum or drop a note in game?
I don't bother with signatures.

Typically it means to send a Private Message via the Forums. If someone is doing an In Character post in the Taverns, they may say something like:

"Leave a message for me at the Rompin Romni ((PM ME))."

They still mean to use the Forum here.

It means they're Pretty Mad at your Potty Mouth and you should Probably Move before they use their Phat Mad skeelz on you and send them a Private Message to them Professing Many apologies.

At least, that's what I've heard...
