Ok, now for my other question.

Post by Magliadoro » Thu Aug 03, 2006 3:06 pm

This seems to be something wrong on my end of the game. My character is just a black shape as are many (but not all) of the other characters in the game. Everybody else can see me fine but for me I'm just a black shape.

Any ideas?

Couple of things spring to mind. Firstly, have you got all the haks? Secondly, try downloading the latest drivers for whatever graphics card you have.

Edit: Oh and I sent you a PM just now.

I do have all the haks and the graphics drivers are up to date. It does this even on the local original game. I just noticed something though. It's all the graphics that were original with the game that are blanked out. In game all the characters are black and in the character creation screen all the character portraits are blank white squares. It's like something has destroyed all the original character graphics. And this is a fresh install too.

This is drastic but often solves lots of problems. Reinstal NWN.

Before you do that what is your Graphics card.

This is a fresh install. I have a Radeon 7800. It worked fine with my last install.

Try using older drivers. Worked for me when I got a ton of black blocks in NWN.

Try the Omega drivers.

http://www.omegadrivers.net

ATI drivers mucked up NWN a while ago. If it doesnt work then you can always revert back.

Omega drivers didn't work for me, only older ATI drivers, but maybe the omega stuff will for you. :)

I'll try the Omega drivers too.

Well the omega drivers did change things a bit so now at least it is a driver issue. I'm downloading the ATI drivers now.

Before reinstalling everything, try turning on/off all options in the video section of the game, it might just be that one of the shadow or other filtering options is mucking up with your drivers.

Other thing is your install might not have gone right and you have a corrupt file somewhere.
