Toran

Post by badstar2k3 » Tue May 13, 2003 6:07 pm

I read a little that Toran's main focus is order. Well I have my fighter Vega through some life events and Toran is now his diety the only problem is my character is CN and not LN. Can I do this until one day I get noticed by a dm? Also I would like to know if there is more information on him. Like where is his main Temple located? Does he have any holy warriors? If so what are their requirements?
This last question is about my char personally how would I go about him getting to become more Lawful. I read the info on LN people but I am still a little confused.
Back for the first time

His temple is located in the north wall of the temple district in Mikona, toward the eastern side. Toran does have a newly formed holy order, the Sword of Toran. I will send you more information this evening when I have time (read: when i'm not trying to do half a semester's worth of work in a couple hours). :)

Once again: the thing you call your alignment is something you filled out. It is not something that you should use as an aim for your character, but as a measure of how the world sees your character. So there is no problem for a CN character joining a LN order (or there shouldn't be), it merely shows his interest in the more lawful side of life and will probably make him more lawful in the long run (the recruit in Toran's ways "learns" even in this sense).

The biggest problem here is that your learning to be more lawful (and making it part of your nature) is hard to express through scripts and scripted quests. I'm sure though that if you join that LN order and you play out your tendency for order, you will draw attention to your lawfulness, so that a DM will shift it for you. Don't expect it to be overnight though and fully expect to go through true Neutral on the way (step by little step).
So much fun,
yet so little time to enjoy it.

@badstar2k3,

Yes this will happen, took me several months to move to the alignment that I was trying to "be"

Also almost anyone can worship almost any god based on the Spheres of influence, warriors can call on (or pray to) Toran, Gorethar and/or Corellon Larethian for battle related concerns, crafters: Gorethar, Fengal
etc...

@sindol,

I know It's been beat to death before, but I still believe that alignment is BOTH what you try to be AND how the world (or DM) sees you. In the engine, the alignment shown is the world (or DM) view since it affects what classes you can advance in. But the characters might have goals that require a certain alignment (bards, druids, paladins) and should strive towards those goals.
