CTS and summons

Post by Heronimous Fox » Mon Jun 26, 2006 3:02 pm

This is a note to the 'greater team' out their regarding playing with your little furry creature - both summons and CTS

Have raised this with Ghengiz as well and he is going to rummage around Jonezie I think.

My little druid is CN and has an AE of 15. At the moment she cannot summon monster 1 (level 1 druid spell). The spell is selected...it appears but is not 'used' or 'ready to use' in terms of how it appears in the raidal menu. Its somewhere in between.

Also she is trying to train a companion. She can befriend them and it is here it all goes screwy. The next stage in companion training doesnt work for her. Her companion keeps the name I gave her default summons 'little cuddlebumps' and does not change to 'Nia's Companion' when the rite is complete.

Anyone else experience this or have any useful thoughs?

AFAIK, the name isn't supposed to change. It will keep whatever name you give it, even once the rite is complete.

As for why your summoning spell isn't working, I have no idea.

As far as I am aware the name given to your companian at level up is what will remain until you level again to change it. If you rename IG the CTS will register the new name but the floaty will not change.

And Im guessing you mean summons creature I?

That has been my experience as well. On the next druid (or ranger) level that your PC takes, you can rename it to the generic floaty "Nia's Companion" during the leveling procedure, if that is your preference.

As for the summon creature, how are you trying to cast the spell? That is, are you using a quick slot or are you instantiating the emote radial by right clicking on your PC? It has been quite a while, but I recall instantiating the radial menu for the spell by right clicking on the location that you wish to summon the creature. It may appear disabled if you right click on your PC and try to cast the spell.

The problem HFox's char is having is bit different. When he goes through naming rite, no message comes up in the combat chat window. And the companion does not respond to training commands.

Normally when you do the naming rite, the companion that has been befriended will be unsummoned and resummoned on the spot as well. This does not happen with HFox's char.

Welcome. And for summons, what analgesia wrote. Try right clicking on the spot you want to summon them and cast. However if you want to change type of summons you first have to select it in "Special Functions" menu.

Hope this helps.
