I was just wondering, what would be the AMD equivalent?

most AMD 3000,even samptrons get about same performance like Intel Pentium 4 in Benchmarks, even better for games, in case of samptrons it just depends on what socel.

Ouch...

With...

2.15 gigahertz AMD Athlon XP
512 Megabytes Installed Memory
NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 [Display adapter]

I am going to struggle. Badly.

Right.

I have an AMD 4200 64 X2. It is "supposed" to be the equilalent of an INTEL 4.2 GHz processor (since INTEL is known for their overexagerations.

The specs are only 2.2 Ghz, but if you look at the number of the processor, that will give you lowdown on the Intel overexageration.

I just bought a new computer a few months ago, and I just barely meet the reecommended specs. Those graphics better be as hawt as the screenshots imply.

I dont have the min requirements and dont have any cash to put into upgrading.

Also as a dial up user, I think having to D/L the DM client is the suck.

The info about the DM client isn't new BTW. Previous discussion here:

As a dial up user your worst fear shouldn't be having to download the DM client; rather, it should be that the listed minimum specification for online play is a broadband connection.

That is one of the great things about NWN1 -- it really uses so little bandwidth client side. 56k plays as well as 10 meg. pipe.
Thought thinks itself.

the graphics will only be as hawt as your system will allow. Try saving a few bucks when you can and maybe you can afford a video card upgrade by the time the game comes out.

I am sure we can download a copy and burn you a CD. Can't really help with the PC though.

Same here Alex.

And I don't see the need to spend $1000 to be able to play 1 game

This might mark the next game that I buy, though I will have to buy a whole new computer.

For the 2 bucks it will cost, I'll download and burn the DM client for anyone that really needs it (team especially). It's well worth it to get the next generation of Avlis started.

Well, I better start counting my coppers and saving for a new rig.

I won't be buying it until the parts are a little more commodity. NWN barely runs well enough for me and I am far, far past the NWN requirements.

I have a 3.0 Ghz HT P4, 1 gig of ram and a 128 6600 TDH GT.

I think my graphics card will struggle though :(

I used to play NWN on a P3, 400 MHz computer with 300ish SD RAM and a Voodoo 3 vid card. It worked. :)

I'll probably buy it purely to play the next incarnation of Avlis PW so I can be a 1% and get all that pHat loot and l33t skillz. Unless the reivews on the game itself are less then favourable of course in terms of the game engines stability etc. As to the sys req? Not a problem my beast can handle everything I've thrown at it so far!!!

Although that is the beauty of NWN isn't it? The ability to be able to play a game with an old pc and a trusty 56k modem.

Funny thing is when I first played NWN I was disappointed they had moved away from the BG interface and gameplay perspective. Nevertheless after a few weeks playing I came to appreciate the graphics NWN engine.

Looking at upgrading to an AMD X2 4400+ system. Would this be wise, or should I go with and AM2 Mobo...

I only have about $1200 to spend :?

I think the best thing about NWN1 is how the overall design of the game made all this custom content and diverse range of shit possible.

NWN2 has already expaned on this, but making things stable and not just nice looking is a differant thing all together.
