Underdark Server Open Beta

Post by liephus » Sat Apr 15, 2006 11:20 pm

I'm pleased to announce that the Underdark server is ready to enter open beta. It is currently running on a seperate vault from the main servers, so you will have to start new characters. I highly recommend playing a character of evil alignment, as it will start you in Verloghokbol (aka Dark City). Playing a good or neutral character will start you in the middle of the Underdark... not the best place to be at level 1.

There no new haks to download. Just connect using the following information:

Direct Connect to: avlis.blackdagger.net:5131
Password: UnderdarkBetaPW

Feel free to post comments, suggestions, etc here. Also, if you *cringes* find any bugs or exploits, please let me know.

Game on.

In the Drunken Skeleton inn, you might want to include something with Bonesy yelling/keeling/giving chaos points when you take food out of the crates behind him.

Grimli doesn't seem to reforge armour in the style of Ka-Kimon, was leather armour and I had the gold.

When I've got a slave, and I right click his portrait and press "follow" it opens up the menu like I've spoken to him.

The Dead Mine Inn, Reth T'Reth doesn't speak when clicked on... tried the radial "talk to" also. Doesn't work.

Temple district, the guy standing outside of Hurine's shrine, with the long name, Grazby Gellihalliburtinaphleheim. He doesn't speak either.
Fixed - liephus
Torture museum... there is a typo in the description of "The Pendulum" Enemys > Enemies

When I use the torture kit.. it doesn't do anything...

In the Starlight Lounge, speaking to Ululin without going around the counter/through the kitchens etc is impossible, whereas in theory you should be able to speak to her from across the counter/bar?

Your password must contain at least 8 letters, a capital, a plot, a protagonist with good character development, a twist, and a happy ending.

In the pleasure palace, after taking care of business by the docks, you can just keep on talking to Evyl E and he'll keep giving you XP and gold

Also when you get drained from... the "merchandize" he says he can fix you up, but he doesn't

Looks So awsome!! :P

but a small bug i found is in the temple district, the Cleric of Valok gives you 70 lawful points if you ask to convert to Valok.
A feature for half-orcs and orcs, but I don't like it. Removed.- liephus

Which is the correct spelling: Kimonicticus or Kimonictinus? The former seems used in the mod., but both are used in the world info.
I always use Kimonicticus- liephus
Some minor points:
- The item "Palemaster's Helm" has an error in the description. It's easy to notice.
Fixed - liephus
- There is a space missing in the description for the Rothe Dung Shovel
Fixed - liephus

The Deep Bats in the Guano Cavern seemed way too tough for my first level character, but I got the impression it was supposed to be a lowbie quest.

Question:

Which races will be playable when you start a new character in Dark City when the server goes live?

Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary.

Impossible is nothing.

NICE 8)

couple of minor points

1. docks district......there are two wh '2's and no wh '1' so the 'dwork' quest doesnt work as you can do a number 1, only a 2
There is a wh1. wh2 has two entrances which probably confused you- liephus
2. when you tithe to big K, cibus says you have tithed to Cibus of K and Cibus of V....he may be doing a little work on the side though.
Fixed - liephus
and yes it is very nice and very deadly.....no ones gonna piss around with rats again

Possibly...a few more rest points in the wild parts. I know its EEEEVil, and meant to be HELLA HARD..but..i must of gone through 20 areas and not a single rest point, anywhere. Perhaps a really hard cave, you have to clear out before you rest...but something would be nice!
