Avlis up... DNS... in progress
Looks like our so-called "static" ip wasn't so "static"
IP is now: 68.193.148.56
DNS and interserver portals have been updated. As mentioned elsewhere, DNS can take up to 48 hours to propogate to all ISP's so either use the above address or GameSpy.

Call it a best effort. If your ISP doesn't honor the TTL, you won't see it until your ISP feels like updating.Silk wrote:http://www.dyndns.com/services/dns/dyndns/features.htmlAlmost instantaneous DNS propagation time
Traditional ISP's and Telco DSL companies are usually good about that. Their focus is business users so their stuff usually just works.
Cable ISP's, which have a consumer (low-margin) focus, are bad about this. Optimum Online is notably bad in this respect.

So, it looks like the servers have changed IP's again, which means DNS is not pointing to the IP they are currently on.
67.82.237.177 is what I am seeing in the PW Story list for server details.

Heh. IP Freely.
I was on Elysia when I think it switched. Crashed out on my side, then couldn't seem to get back in. Tried the Gamespy login (versus direct connect shortcuts) and couldn't connect. Checked the boards.
Copied and pasted the "new" IP into my shortcuts, and logged right back on to find the remains of something I had killed.

Man, I was in Deglos, in the middle of being transitioned from death area to my DP, when the IP changed... was just opening avlis.org to post a restore request
when it turned out it was not actualy a crash

If I ever edit a post it most probably cause of the typos. I make a hell lot of them when I write.
