rapid shot
I took the feat rapid shot, and it didn't give me a extra attack
or does it not appear like when you gain an extra attack?
say...
attack bonus: +9 / +7
or would it just...
attack bonus: +9 and not show the extra attack but still have it?
rapid shot: for the bow
rapid reload: for the crossbow

You need to activate it, like detect/stealth mode.

and both attacks suffer the -2. So when you activate the ability, your AB will show as +7 in your character sheet. When you attack something, you will notice that you are making two attacks, both at +7 ab.
Now when you get your official second attack, your character sheet will show (we'll just assume your AB didn't change for simplicity) 9/4 and it'll show 7/2 when you activate rapid shot. If you look in your battle log then, you'll see that you are making three attacks. First at 7, second at 2, and third at 7. The rapid shot is always made at highest AB.

its a very good feat when you fight low AC and high HP creatures. very usefull, you just have to quickslot the feat so you can quickly select it when neededFire Monkey wrote:-2 to hit.spool32 wrote:It's worth noting that you get a to-hit penalty when it's on, in exchange for more attacks/round.

Rapid shot is for bows and another feat called rapid reload is used for crossbows which gives the same number of attacks that a normal bow would get.
Just had a thought if you were a fighter and used a crossbow, with rapid reload. Would you thus get four attacks arround at 16th level with a crossbow cause thats your normal amount of attacks you would get with a bow?

Though I'm not sure how it works in PnP, feat description is wrong in NWN for Rapid Reload. You will only get one extra attack per round. So, 2 attacks per round, max 3 hasted. Reason, you don't see many using crossbow.downsystem wrote:Rapid shot is for bows and another feat called rapid reload is used for crossbows which gives the same number of attacks that a normal bow would get.

Rapid Reload works as intended, it's the description what is wrong.
mortzestus wrote:In NWN Rapid Reload just lets you attack twice per round with any crossbow. In D&D 3.0 the Rapid Reload feat lets you recharge light crossbows as a free action or heavy crossbows as a move equivalent action, this increasing the RoF of light crossbows from 1 to 2 attacks and heavy crossbows go from 1/2 to 1 attack. Heavy crossbows can usually be fired just once every two rounds, they are insanely fast in NWN.
EDIT: Also in D&D 3.0 there's an epic feat called Instant Reload that lets you fire a crossbow at your full normal attack rate.
