how large is your nwn folder?
search yielded no results. so i figured i'd ask since i need ot buy a hard drive large enough to contain nwn and all the .hak and override files required to play, not to mention cep however large that may be.
so if you kind folks could, just let me know how large your nwn folder is with all the 'required' files to play avlis, would be very helpful.
i will soon have a 2GB drive running my os but will be getting a second drive to install nwn on and need to know drive size so that i can get decent idea on how much i need to spend on upgrading the computer my friend is giving me.
also, if anyone has suggestions for upgrading. i am not looking for best performance or top graphics but just to be able to get back online.
i will be getting a p3 750MHz, 128MB PC100 memory, voodoo3 graphics card and 2GB hard drive.
so i need to know what i need to upgrade to get this freebee up and running. my budget is limitted so if anyone has any suggestions on where to get upgrade would be helpful.
if a new puter is cheaper than upgrading this machine, does anyone want to buy it from me?

Here's the "official" requirements and recommendations for a system
My advice would be to buy a new machine, since I get the feeling you'll be crawling on the system you list, without replacing nearly everything. I was able to run it pretty well on a 1.7 GHz pentuim 4 with 256 megs of RAM and a Radeon 9700 video card.
I've run it on a 1.8 GHz Pentium Mobile laptop with a generic 64 meg video card. It's pretty unplayable in any large parties or combats--which is because of the video card, I believe. And those requirements are just for the single player with no other custom haks. Avlis uses enough custom files to slow it down further, as does the multiplayer aspects of having to deal with other PCs and larger combats.Operating System: Windows 98/Me/XP
Processor: Pentium III 800MHZ (Pentium 4.13 GHZ or higher recommended)
Hard Drive: 1.5 GB Free
Video Card: 32 MB video card with Hardware T&L support (64 MB video card with Hardware T&L support recommended)
Processor: DirectX certified sound card
Processor: Local area network with TCP/IP protocol or Internet connection (56 Kbps modem or faster required)
CD-ROM: DVD-ROM Drive

2GB Hard Drive doesn't enable you to have both Windows and NWN with Avlis haks.

i was going to get a larger scsi drive for nwn but it seems like i need more than just a drive. my processor runs at about half of what is required speed for online gameplay and i'd need more ram too at least.Krator wrote:2GB Hard Drive doesn't enable you to have both Windows and NWN with Avlis haks.

wish i still had my old pc, that ran avlis just fine but my dad geeked out and got rid of it for a bunch of bs reasons. he's all christian to the max and doesn't like pr0n on his computer so he 86'ed it.
the messed up thing is that while he doesn't condone pr0n on his computer that doesn't seem to stop him from bringing in a different hooker every day of the week. damn hipocrit.
anyone looking for a roomate?

Mine is 5,03 GB. But I think that's without the haks for Kuras. It still is quite large, despite not having screenshots and all. Sorry for you mate
