What does this mean ?
((+1 Strength; Bull's Strength (10) 10x))
If I have a ring that says this in the description what does it mean ?
I understand the +1 STR bonus, but what does the rest of it mean ?
Thanks.
W.

Re: What does this mean ?
you can cast Bull's Strength at caster level 10, 10 times using that ring (it has enough charges for 10)Woody wrote:((+1 Strength; Bull's Strength (10) 10x))

Be careful with items that will have the last casting bring the charges down to 0... the item will disappear if you use the last charge.
Thaylis Beign: Morgan, did you cast recitation?
Morgan Thornheart: Yes
Thaylis Beign: *nods*
Morgan Thornheart: Aarilax blesses you all. Now get the fuck out of here.

Well ive never been officially told from anyone else. I know the 10 x is how meny times you can cast the spell bulls strength from the ring before it the power fizzles up and the ring vanishies. I did this once to my items before. So if you do use the spell like ability of the ring dont use the last charge.
As far as the (10) before im guessing its the level at which the spell cast at. Thus being cast as if you were a 10th level caster.

Those guys *points up* all got the Bulls Strength bit right.
But I'd be mightly surprised if using the last charge destroyed the ring given the permanant Str +1.
I'd export the character (hit Esc or 'o' and press "Save Character") and the load up a test mod using that char and use all the charges to see what happens.

Ah well, at least I had the sense to suggest testing it first

Yeah, maybe I'll hold out for a +2 attrib. ring...even though it is 10X as much in price !

I guess the cost of the ring can be offset against the cost of bulls strength potions too. I mean if a regular potion of bulls strength costs 300 gold but the spell on the ring lasts 3 times longer (10 hours rather than 3 hours) then you just saved yourslef lots of gold. How much do the rings cost anyway?

Well, I think I saw the( (+1 Strength; Bull's Strength (10) 10x))
ring for 10,000 GP.
A ring with permanent +2 STR costs about 100,000 GP.

but you should really find out in game.
there are several players who make them now, not all of which work for the big shops.
