Simply amazing...

Post by Salchichero » Wed Jan 11, 2006 3:24 pm

I was surfing the web today looking to the D&D website and this came up...

http://www.chick.com/reading/tracts/0046/0046_01.asp

simply amazing... I read this and laughed at first, then sadly realized that there are folk out there who see us (gamers in general) to be this, well, retarded... I feel sorry for their ignorance, well, not really

Well, I find that amusing simply because, as a Satanist and all powerful 88th degree Grand High Master of the Nephilim, I use precisely those methods to recruit new followers of the Morningstar.

Amazing what a DM screen and ultimate occult power can give you. Throw in a cheap plastic figure of someone with a sword and you have your own cult :) Just ask David Ike.

The scary thing is probably that Drakuul is the only person I'd believe if he said this to me.

When I was younger, my parents were vehemently anti-D&D due to some made for tv movie about a group of players that try to kill their parents for uber xp and phat lewt.

Not wanting to be labeled a powergamer at such an early age, I only killed them for RP value.

After setting hostiles.

I had the same issue with one of my friends... a shame, we had been playing PNP for over 8 years and all of the sudden he turned into a raving @$$hole

our first encounter went something like this...

my bud walks in... I said, "...hey dude! where have you been? wanna throw down some D&D?"

he raises a hand, eyes ablaze, foam flying from his lips and says "...the power of Ch*&# compels you!"

These Jack Chick comics are old, as indicated by the copyright, but they're still hilarious every time I re-read them.

Ah, chic. I used to collect these for fun.

My mother forbade me frmo gaming during the school year, and absolutely hated it when I did it during the summer. Not because she disliked it? But because it usually involved me and 5 friends in the dining room or living room laughing our asses off until 4 in the morning, hopped up on goof balls, Mountain Dew and junkfood.

She liked the fact that we were not out vandalizing cars and buildings, or mugging people (the only team sports during the summer in Vallejo). She even liked the increased imagination, critical thinking, math, organization and penmanship skills it fostered. But I really think she would have liked to get more sleep. :)

I wish a raven haired dungeon mistress would trap me in a "dungeon of bondage" to quote the religious sycophant.

Ah yes...I tried to cast Harm the other day on my father. But sadly, in 3.5ed it has been capped. He is a cripple now with one kidney, a heart and an artificial lung.

Everyone knows that's silly. Parents are usually commoners or nobles, in either case don't give more than 5 xp, not to mention the loot!
