Map Setting Question

Is there a game setting or an .ini file setting that controls the map, other than the M key in-game?

For instance, I'd like to have the default be: map "on" and at its smallest setting.

Now, when I transition I have to hit M and then minimize it. Anyone know of a setting for this?

Once you call up your map it shouldn't disappear when you transition.

I'm not sure if there is a setting that controls this. Anyone else have a better idea?

Not transition between areas. Sorry.

When I first logon or transition between servers I have to bring it up and resize it.
