Items dissapearing without reason

Post by Naieth » Thu Nov 17, 2005 12:47 pm

When reading an IC post (Click), I came across this:
Drac wrote:((... It did occur around an unequipt but I had plenty of room in my inventory. I had also thought was an inventory bug and immediately checked the ground and my inventory. So I think it was a pick pocket. The loss of the sword is not a big deal but my character received the sword as a gift and it had sentimental value for him.))
I have had the same thing happen, and lost a +3 Shortsword after pressing on the quickslot which would de-equip them. I got the yellow server message Lost Item: Short sword +3 and the item was simply gone dispite plenty of inventory space. Item was gone, not on the ground, not anywhere in my inventory, relogging/sleeping/etc didn't do jack.

Is this a known problem? Do other players recognise this? Any ways we can avoid it somehow?

Maybe one of the module item events is bugged?

Hmm. The one by Drac was in Elysia, mine was on the Le'Or'T'Nanshi server, if that helps.

Yes, this is a known bio-bug with quickslotted weapons and shields. Did you keep the sword in a bag or other container?

And it happened to me in Deglos. :?

In my instance, although I cannot say with 100% certainty, I don't think I had pressed on a quickslot button. My shield, along with my axe, was quickslotted, but I had just come through an area transition when it happened.

is this ionly unequiping using a quickslot, or or reequipping with a different weapon using the quickslot?

In the inventory usually, in my character's hand when I de-equipped it.

I use quickslots all the time for these things. Hopefully it won't happen again..

Happened to me once in Deglos as well. Had neither weapon nor shield equipped, went through an area transition and got a server message about Lost Item: xxxxxxxxx. Item might have been in a bag, maybe.

Lost a shield once in Le'Or. Just a "Lost item:" message without doing anything. It wasn't even in a bag. But oh well, shit happens eh? :)

It happend to me once.

I was just standing arround minding my own business.
Wenn all of a sudden my 3 rune longsword dissapeerd.
No one arround, enough room, but it just vanished from my inventory.
Saying " Lost item longsword +3"
This was in Elf gate I think, could be Dwarftrade or Zvidureth though.
luckly a nice DM gave it back to me.:D

But it is very scary wenn a bug does that.
I'm just glad I didn't lose it while in battle.

*wishes he was a monk so he would not really need a weapon or armor after reading this post*

Wow! That would really stink!!! Now you have me scared. So if you see this message..can you just stay logged on until the server crashes, and then it would be back? :)
I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello?), but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voice-mail. What did you do after I didn't answer? Drop the phone and run away?

I randomly lose cordials that I have quickslotted and in bags as well. Always when I change servers, generally coming onto the wilderness server. No idea what is going on, but it's very annoying, since a lot of them are not easy to make

This tends to happen a fair bit. I reckon I've lost about 8 stacks of heals changing servers.

It doesnt actually remove them.

I had this problem, and investigated it. What it actually does is restacks the potions so if you had a stack of 3 and a stack of 5 it combines them into a single stack of 8. If the stack you had quick slotted was the one that was 'moved' onto the other one your quickslot empties, as that stack doesnt exist any more. The total number of potions remains the same however

It has something to do with the custom items. I have had both happen to me in the past (missing and restacked) It's not a major gripe, I just go make more. Just a pain in the ass.

Is this something which is happening more frequently recently? Or something that has always been occurring that has not been noted before.
