Show us your quickslots!

Post by p0m » Sat Nov 05, 2005 1:12 pm

Enough said? Probably not. I had a burning curiousity to see how some people structure their quickslots in the hope I could finally fix mine.

Just to start things off:- Dannar Blighte.

Basically weapon slots, combat spells or spells I don't want to search for when using, and certain item functions.

Normal ones are spells and abilities I use all the time, ctrl and shift are buffing spells because I'm too lazy to use the radial. ctrl-f12 and shift-f12 are metamagic wands I use with the buffs on that page (energy sub: sonic and maximise).

I really need to ditch that last row sometime.. almost always use the radial menu for buffing nowadays ;)

Do a snapshot for each quickslot bar and then do the good ol' copy/paste maneuver.

This reminds me, need to clean out the quickslots. I usualy use radial menu for shapeshifting anyway.

Image

Empty slot at bottom is for whatever special attack or ability the current species has.

Note the distinct lack of any kind of structure in how I place things in my quickslots..

This is Agnes' current setup:

Image

First bar is for weapons and combat feats.
Second bar is for items and consumables.
Third bar is for combat spells or anything that i might need to cast in a hurry.

On a related matter i always cast long term buffs from the radial menu, why you people feel the need to quickslot spells with hour-based duration? I hope you aren't the same ones who are whining because they could use a fourth quickbar, lol.

EDIT: *points to shift f5* Anyone has cheap scrolls of Lesser Spell Mantle for sale? :P

Hehe.. at first I had the quickslots for it, then it got almost second nature. Then I learnt how to efficiently use the radial menu. I just haven't gotten around to rearranging my quicklots lately. Perhaps I'm just too used to the current setup ;)

Step by step, using the freeware program Irfanview (press to reach the download site) and M$ Paint

1. Make one screenshot for each quickbar by pressing PrtScn
2. Open one of the screenshots with Irfanview, simply drag and select the quickbar and press ctrl+x
3. Open Paint. Go to Image -> Attributes and set the Width to 1 and the Height to 200
4. Press ctrl+v in Paint to paste (the window should resize itself)
5. Repeat step 2 and 4 for the other screenshots. When you paste the other(s), click and drag them below the existing one(s)

When finished press ctrl+a and then ctrl+c
Open a new image in Paint (File -> New), set the Height and Width to 1x1 and then press ctr+v. The window should resize itself.
Press ctrl+s, choose the format JPG and save it.

Next you need to find a free image hosting like for example http://www.photobucket.com. There should be further instructions there.
Lastly, you should get an url which should look something like photobucket/image.jpg. Copy that url and post it within the tags.
Done

Good luck :)
