What are so annoying? Forum accounts of events? Thnig is, in RL, you'd hear about these things through gossip of an evening, having a beer. That does not happen here, so the boards fill that role.

(( example ooc of very annoying to me))

[quote="Kieron"]Just an arrowflight away from a road leading through the southern Nanshi forests, a simple message has been left for the inhabitants and passerbies. Carrion crows and flies cluster around 6 trees, picking at the remains of 6 elves, each corpse slumped against the base of a different tree. Despite the grisly damage of the vultures, from the remains it is clear that each corpse has had its right arm hacked off and then discarded by its side.

As you look up at the trunk of the trees, the macabre use for the arms becomes apparent, each limb serving as a handy "paintbrush". A simple message has been blazoned in very large size on each tree:

Well personally I liked that one. It is certainly far from retarded to my mind. It serves to allow someone to have something they have done reach a wider audience and make sure something grizzly was reported, as it would have been, and further an IC relationship.

Was the first thing you wrote directed at that thread or this one? If it was directed at me, well, you are entitled to your opinion, but despite my good-natured joshing (maybe you could even call it bonding) with WW my intention is not too boost my post count, but to have a laugh and entertain myself, as I do not watch TV and am currently at home all day and evening recovering from an operation, and living with my parents in an area I know no-one, hence the absurd jump in my rate of posting.

*shrugs*

1) You left off a critical part of the post
2) I doubt it was fiction

Sorry i guess i just dont see minor events

Post by downsystem » Mon Oct 03, 2005 8:56 pm

// ooc Ok maybe its not fiction, but its definitely a waste of time to post some minor skirmish like that, and it was definitely posted only to up his forum count. It was only a example of someone that posts something irrelevent as far as im concerned, just for that purpose.

Or maybe you aren't the intended audience. I'm fairly certain that there was a point to that post. I'm fairly certain I know what it is, but then again it's well established that I spend too much time reading the boards.

It's also entirely rude and inappropriate to include the name of the person you're quoting ina post that's basically saying that his post is worthless and irrelevant.

Tact, people. Geez.
<Sili> I've seen septic tanks with less shit in them than Fuzz.

<Ronnin> damm not even a kiss??
<Chasmania> Kiss Fuzz? I'd rather fellate a goat.

<Chasmania> there are many roads to Rome..they just picked a shit filled alley full of scabby hookers and bums.

There is a far higher meaning to that post than the raising of post count (which was probably the last thing on this player's mind when he wrote the post). Add to that I'm fairly sure what the meaning is (and it should not even be that hard to figure out), and that this player has probably did everything ig before he noted it on the boards, and I'm left to wonder why you're making a mountain out of a molehill. If you don't like the post, don't know what it means, or aren't involved, just ignore it.

Oh, and pc++ ;)

If you don't like descriptive posts, don't read them. This dead horse has been beaten to a mushy pulp. Many people, myself among them, feel that posts of this nature contribute in a positive manner to the milieu of Avlis, and so they stay.

I'm pretty darn sure that there is a point to the post you quoted, and that post count is not important to the people who take the time to write IC descriptive posts.

I have to ask, who are you to think this is irrelevent? Do you know the person who posted? The situation that led to the post? The character who acted out what was described in the post?

I highly doubt you do, and I seriously suggest you find out before continuing.

To totally derail this thread, I hate people who can't take the time to spell-check. There, I wrote it out for all to see.

That's why I like Opera. Of course I don't always spell check my posts. And I hate myself for it. :(

I like opera too, but don't you think its interesting that the Phantom of the Opera is a musical? What makes an opera, if not that? I'm so confused.

I learned not to 'type in the box' as it were, because potentially the post could be lost, so I always use Notepad to write a post, then ctrl-c/ctrl-v to post it. Saves a lot of headache when having to retype a long post, and it spell-checks.

I ask you to visit this thread:

And check some of my postings there. If something is still unclear, let me know where your character lives so that I can demonstrate more clearly.

And btw, this isn't rants... yet.

What I found interesting was the reference to opera in Les Miz, which I always took to be a bit of a dig at Phantom. That's probably only because at the time I thought of it, they were competing with each other, if you will, for Toronto audiences.

Although I was thoroughly impressed with Phantom when I finally saw it earlier this year, I still like Les Miserables better. I just can't get enough of Eponine. Image

Whereas I can't stand musicals, and think they are a complete waste of time as far as I am concerned. Opera is great, but musicals are just pathetic wastes of stages intended by hack writers to get their count of musicals up and get more oney in their pockets. Musicals are a waste of time and retarded in my opinion, because it is just to look good. If you want to tell a story accompanied by music, have it translated into Italian and sung by fat people. All this stuff in musicals that is onl relevant to people who like musicals, that gives nothing useful to people who only like car chase movies.... I mean, why should I go to a West End theatre and have to sit through a musical? I just wish all numbskulled musical writers like Andwer Lloyd Webber would just stop uppin' their frikkin box office takings and get blasted into oblivion.

Sorry to rant, but this is pretty stupid to me.

Well, that may be true about Eponine, but Les Mis is just too depressing for words. Of course I'm waiting for Disney to pick up the rights to make it into an "animated classic" any day now...
