I vote we cut it down, the way Oo'good'toova has been. To say, perhaps oo'good'shooli?

Just suggesting, as I'm sure my main will get tired of saying "ooveha goodel shooli" every third line

Hmmm... I was using oo'good'shooli to follow the oo'good toova pattern...

Oohev goodel toova = oo'good toova
Oohev goodel shooli = oo'good shooli

Then, after discussion with another player who's first language is close to Avlissian Elven, we thought of "oo'shooli". (Can't remember the whole reasoning behind this though, sorry...) "Oohevas goodel" is 'to like well (more...)'... so 'goodel' acts more as an adjective rather than being part of the verb... or is it?

Same for 'I love you'.
Eni oohev goodel ta. = Eni oo'good ta.

Is that ok or should I just refrain from using those expressions until everything is officialised?

Any details and more info about this would be appreciated.
Thanks for making it even more real! :D

Are you sure its "ooheva"?
Orleron wrote:Converting a verb to a noun:

-Take the stem and add the 'ith' ending.

Some verbs like Sheras (to sing) do not follow this rule.

Examples:

taynas (to give) becomes taynith (giving)

tikvooas (to hope) becomes tikvooith (hope, or hoping)

There is no distinction in elven between the gerund (-ing ending) form of a verb turned into a noun and its non gerund form. Thus, hope and hoping are both tikvooith, and you must know the context of the sentence to figure out which is which.
Following this, I've assumed that "love" as a noun would be "oohevith goodel", which is what my main calls his significant other, as a term of endearment; only he often drops the "goodel" as its just easier to say it without.
You're right. This is one instance of contradictory rules posted. There have been some nouns formed by adding the -a to a verb stem, but let's stick with the general rule here. So "my love" would be oohevith goodel shooli, or in short form, oo'good'li.
Crap, saw that one a bit late... sorry  .... so oo'good'li it is... though I presume 'li is short for shooli... so would oo'good shooli be acceptable too?
Just asking... thanks! :D

So "please, my love" would be: "Toobith, oo'good'li" ? Or is that "It's pleasing, my love." ?

Concerning command form, based on the languages I know, I'm assuming that you simply drop the infinitive ending.

For example, lulecetas ("to go") in command form would be "Lulecet!" (singular) or "Lulecetu!" (plural).

Nofaylas ("to attack") would be "Nofayl!" or "Nofaylu!", etc.

Am I correct?

Do we have Nanshilae for the terms "brother" and "sister" or all the familial relationships? They're not in any lists that I've found...

Heh, I'm in touch right now with the Nanshilae developer. We'll sort this out. It seems some of the words he made already existed in other forms, and our master list isn't up to date anymore. Maybe Orl added those more recently, I'm not sure. :)

I was wondering, is there a word for "gift" and "grace"? If we use grace as a title, like Your Grace, does the word change? Thanks in advance :D
