A little birdy told me not long ago that there was going to be a rather large overhaul to the holy warrior PrCs. Did this happen when the servers upgraded? If so could we get some information on the changes?

Sadly, the Holy Warrior updates have been delayed until the next CoPaP hak updates.

Exactly what update can we expect to see? The Holy Warriors are pretty decent now, but I'd like to know what we have to look forward to.

If you like them now, you'll be very pleasantly surprised. If you don't like them now, well, you'll still be very pleasantly surprised.

If I told you what's going to happen, it wouldn't be a surprise, would it?

I'll post all the details when the updates are going in. Until then, they'll just get people worked up into a frothing frenzy at what they want but cannot yet have.

YES!! I love my blackguard but the PRC doesn't give him a whole lot. except use poison.. Okay.. Great.. Me wants More *froths at the mouth* MUWHAHAHAHAAAA

Sorry to break it to you, but only the custom PrCs are being overhauled, not Blackguard.

Yeah, just the 7 Avlissian Holy Warriors are being reworked, and not Paladins or Blackguards. The other 7 are being brought more into line with the two BW classes, actually (which is to say they're being improved to the powerlevel of BGs/Paladins). Blackguards have it SO much better than Avlissian Holy Warriors (until the update) that you really shouldn't complain about them too loudly, lest you get mugged by a horde of angry Dominators, Equalizers, Avengers, Champions, Justicars, Confounders, and Annihilators.

Icly, Bring em on! I've knocked the snot out of em' before, I'll do it again..

OOCly, Okay.. Well my char is only a level 1 BG so I am sure that things will get better and better for him down the road. Till then.. I'll just keep smiting,, I mean smiling...

Not begging for the juicy details...but is it ok to ask if the requirements for the PrCs are going to change? If so, drasticly? (i.e. completely different skills,feats, maybe even required classes) I hope not cause I have a couple prospective HWs.

Only one Holy Warrior PrC is getting new prerequisites: the Avenger. The others seemed pretty balanced, and no PCs complained about them to me. The Avenger prereqs have prevented probably 10-15 people in the last 2 years from taking the class, who would have loved to do so but had no possible way - those prereqs were by far the most difficult to meet, requiring one to have at least 4 levels of Fighter and a level of Druid or Ranger. Since characters in NWN can only have 3 classes, this prevented almost every PC from becoming an Avenger.

Wrong... *points down* The prereqs were just as difficult to meet as any other PrC Holy Warrior, but this might not always have been the case..? Seven Ranger levels (for the BAB) and you are ready for the Avenger PrC. Regardless, it'll be good to finally see some PCs with funny hats...

I think Rangers might even select the right skills using the default package

I remember Drak being sad when the stats were released that Jillinae couldn't take it though. *giggles as he thinks how far from Avenger Jill went*

It was originally Weapon SPECIALIZATION, not Weapon Focus. You'll find that there have been some inconsistencies between the actual .2das and what was published about them.

Aloro... as my first real toolset excercise I levelled Syrin (A Ranger/Rogue) into an Avenger using the haks when he was still low level... close to or longer than a year ago I think... and he needed focus... so that must have been a real long while back that the 2das said specialisation. Oo
