Rant for Lasher - King of events for newbies :D

Post by Arieanne » Mon Jun 13, 2005 4:45 am

I know it should be in Rant&Raves, but I wanted him to see it :)

Ok, this guy sleepgriefed me a hell of a lot, but damn, it was worth it!! 8)

The most fantastic event for newbies, I have ever attended to! (Lasher, where the hell have you been, where Airinn was small? :P )

What was so special about it? Here ya go:

It took place on three servers. On each of them he has chosen perfect place to run the event, not disturbing other players and making us feeling as if we really "had the important mission to fulfill".
He took care of such details like despawning Dwarven mercenaries, who'd have killed each of us with one hit and spawning some smaller hostile creatures to "disturb" us in our mission :P
There was cool RP, there was fight against dangerous mushrooms (or whatever it was), there was blood, there were fantastic items (as for newbies :) ), there were cookies and his permanent care for making the event interesting.
He switched among NPCs, possesing lots of them and helping or disturbing us in the "mission". He even changed the way of speaking - dwarf was using "dwarven" language, orc was harsh and laconic, fairy was lively and amusing.

Awesome, dude! I bet other participants of the event agree with me! :D :good:

Cheers for Lasher! :D :drink:

alright dumb newive question tha culd probably be answered elsewhere (ok maybe two of them):

1) where does one find out about events such as this, which i missed?

and

2) does anyone know how to shrink an avatar, i found a couple nice ones (including kermit humping a teddy bear) but they are all too large.....?

happy trails all

It wasn't really a scheduled thing. My advice - the best way to get involved in DM plots is to join a guild. And what's your PCs name? Out of curiosity.. Not that I would try and torture you or anything if I saw you in my TZ

I gotta say props to Lasher as well. He was the first sponsor DM to approach me on my Taleweavers adventuring troupe... the group's long since disbanded but there's still plenty of memories around from those days.
