Any issues with quickkeyed consumables?
It seems like randomly (but frequently enough to be annoying) a stack of heal kits or heal potions that I drag from a bag directly to the quck key slots just disappears on reset or logout. Sometimes the slot shows a number of items left that does not match a stack in my inventory and they cease to work from the quick slots.
Is it just me or is this a known issue?

(This isn't really an "Ask The Team" question, probably best in General Discussion.)
This is a known "features" of the game:
1) quick-slotting items in bags are liable to go wrong. Solution: don't do it, or just accept the fact that they need adjusting from time to time.
2) When you die, items get removed from inventory, so it follows quite sensibly that quick-slots or removed.

The problem with this is that the slots are not cleared. The picture of the item you originally quickslotted will still be there, but when you try to use it, it won't work. All quick slots are broken when you are deathplaned unless the item is plot/nondroppable and still in your inventory. Once you get your items back from your corpse, you need to redo all of your quickslots.Dirk Cutlass wrote:2) When you die, items get removed from inventory, so it follows quite sensibly that quick-slots or removed.
Generally I don't have a problem with quickslotted consumables that I store in bags unless I have mutliple stacks of the same item. In that case it always put the smallest stack in the quickslot. I do have the problem with any weapons or items that I quickslot and store in magical bags tho. Each time I log in/transition to a new server, I need to reset those quickslots. It's not a bug, just a fact of life in NWN.

Hmm.. never ran into this problem, Daerthe. You sure you aren't imagining things?Daerthe wrote:The problem with this is that the slots are not cleared. .

I"ve ran into problems where if I put stuff in a bag, the corresponding quickslot is emptied. It's annoying...

it happened to me a while ago. tends to leave stuff that is in bags in the quickslot. Looks like it knows the bag is dropped but not the contentschoraldances wrote:Hmm.. never ran into this problem, Daerthe. What Daerthe described happens to my character every time she dies. Quickslots stay, even without the items in my inventory.choraldances wrote:Hmm.. never ran into this problem, Daerthe. Interesting. During non-lag situation?

Can't speak for Daerthe, but for me it happens whenever the character dies and goes to her deathplane, regardless of the lag situation at the time.choraldances wrote:Interesting. During non-lag situation?

That's interesting...
I wish that'd be the case for me, this saves me from having to re-slot them

Re: Any issues with quickkeyed consumables?
This is what is happenning, if you have multiple stacks of a potion in a bag, everytime you log in, all the potions are restacked. For example if you have a bag with 2 stacks of potions in a bag, one with 10 and another with 5 and you quickslot the stack of 5, when you next log in, you will see that the stack of 10 will likely be in your quickslot instead. And if you log again, the stack of 5 will be in the quickslot.Eponine wrote:It seems like randomly (but frequently enough to be annoying) a stack of heal kits or heal potions that I drag from a bag directly to the quck key slots just disappears on reset or logout. However if you have 2 stacks of potions in a bag, one of 8 and another of 1 and you quickslot the stack of 1, the next time you log in, you will only have one stack of 9 potions in your bag and your quickslot will be empty

Aye, this also happens to me everytime I am DPed. The quickslots won't actually work but the picture is still there. If you look closely you can tell the difference because when they are quickslotted properly you can see the little text label in the corner denoting the quickslot i.e. " Ctrl+2" etc. When they stay after you have been DPed you will notice that this text is obscured.choraldances wrote:That's interesting...

Who says I spend too much time playing this game

Oh and the one advantage of it is that, although the quickslots don;t work, you can see what they all were so you can take the items from your inventory and quickslot them again making sure you don't forget anything.

Same thing that happens to me

And CD, some clothes can't be put in chests because they get de-coloured! It's awful for a character who likes to travel light (I usually carry 30 pounds or less)... I can only carry about 5 different clothes at any time, including the army uniform! I wish they could be made weightless

I need to do some tests but I swear it seems like heal kits actually dissapear from inventory when I did.
Luckily Eponine dies all the time so I should know for sure soon.
