Anyone here running a NWNX install on Linux?

Post by Enverex » Sun May 01, 2005 11:37 pm

I need some help if anyone is. Trying to set up connections to a MySQL database and it's being a pain.
Or let me rephrase, it connects fine, but any of the scripts, even the test ones keep spitting out MySQL syntax errors and not working.

Thanks,
Ex

Couldn't find much Linux related stuff there and the ODBC2 module hasn't been ported yet... but..

Yeah, it's ok, turns out I have everything set up fine, it's just getting the individual add-on systems to work properly that is the pain (BBSs, etc). I.e. the APS BBS 1.2, CNR, etc etc

Ok, next question :) :

I'm trying to set up Red Golems character creator, but it seems to want you to use Windows EXEs or DLL files, which obviously don't work on a Linux machine. Anyone have any ideas to get around this? Thanks.

Sorry, I was thinking about the Talus system at the time and only saw an executable in the 404 folder (but it was only a bat file) so I'll edit this. Thanks anyway

Ok, that is done and installed and implemented, but Red Golems character customiser just gives errors when it goes to edit the Bic file, now I remember hearing that the 1.64 patch broke it, so does anyone know the fix needed to get it working again? Thanks.

Continuing my apparent monologue...

After a few hundred manual local 2da modifications for the Character Customiser, it seems to work properly now and makes the characters perfectly, but there is an issue...

Remember a while back Avlis was booting everyone with a "Too many feats for level x" message? Well I am getting the same issue now (it's Red Golems ECL, not the Bioware one).

May I ask how you fixed this?

Ok, found the problem, it is exactly this:
http://nwn.bioware.com/guilds_registry/ ... 5&gid=6231

Red Golem never implemented the fix...

The person in question solved the problem by editing the 2da files manually, but that isn't a good idea for me as it would require a few thousand edits as well as doing it every time a new COPAP hak comes out.

Does anyone know if a fix was ever made for this or if anyone has a workaround?
