The Player Guide is Now on the Wiki!
wiki/index.php/Avlisdocs%3APlayer_Guide
All credit goes to Zebranky, who tirelessly put all the information from the Player Guide onto the Wiki. For those of you who don't know what a wiki is, it's a knowledge base for the people by the people. If you have additional useful information that you think should be added, make an account and add it in. Please do not include any information that you are not allowed to share OOCly, most notably, crafting and artificing recipes. If you have questions about whether information would be appropriate for the wiki, you can always post a question in Ask the Team.
While it is possible for people to go in and "delete" pages, this will be considered griefing and offenders will be dealt with appropriately. Accidental deletions can be easily fixed by viewing a page's history and adding in information that was lost.
We hope that this "Living Player's Guide" will help to make the new player experience easier by having a document that is easily updated.
Doug

Fanks Zebranky !
I'm sure this will lead more people to add content to the Avlis Wiki.
http://www.wikipedia.org should give everyone an indication of the potential of the Wiki system - it's an free, open-content encyclopedia.

I'm glad it's a wiki now, I've always liked the idea that anyone can edit anything there. (Although doug, I think only sysops can delete pages entirely... other people can only blank them, and anyone can revert that. I've now had plenty of wiki experience...
)
I hope you can all add something to it that you've learned the hard way. That's what originally got me the job: "DMs see party chat, so watch how you spam them". At the time, I didn't quite expect the job I got, but it was worth it

Code: Select all
<Zebranky> (Also, that would piss SO many people off. ;)
<Nob> That's why it's such a great idea, Zeb.

This is true. A few team members can delete pages fully. Like you said, people can only blank pages and they can be reverted, but someone has to take the time to revert them. So people who abuse their wiki privelages will find their other Avlis privelages curtailed.Zebranky wrote:Although doug, I think only sysops can delete pages entirely... other people can only blank them, and anyone can revert that.
*slowly adds more kurathene info to the wiki*
