But I would recommend doing a search of the forums to see what people have said about this feat in the past. It can be a touchy subject.

When you ll be at the level to get it the areas will be very tough anyway so it won't make such a great difference. The advantage is mostly psycological. Many epic areas have monsters immune to criticals. Others have monsters with high Fort saves so it will not be a walk in the park. Usually monsters with low Fort save have low HP so you kill them even when you just score a crittical .

It has some advantages on CvC but that will be against other fighters that will have other abilities or better equipment to make up for the lack of it. As we all know mages always win the CvC's anyway before you manage to touch them not to speak of Harm + Searing light clerical combo, or teh druidic dragon form or the Shadowdancer cheesy "hide and seek" . People always talk on forums of what is "good" and "suitable" FOR OTHERS to do only to "forget" it when THEIR ass is in danger using all kinds of cheesy ways and afterwards they get back in forums writing sorrys and apologetic letters. Next day they do the same again .

In other words do what you like. Try not to ruin the others fun of course and be fair but i will never be the one suggesting you how you ll make your character to be "suitable for my ethics"

PS for history i consider Disarm feat far worse since if server crashes you may lose your weapon for ever and probably get no restore. At least with Dev Crit even on server crash you ll not lose your weapon

this has been discussed elsewhere too..
If do the work towards your kickass fighter taking this feat, then take it.
So far as I'm concerned a kickass fighter should be just that.
As for the poppycock about mages, if you can get to me to take me down in one hit, you have done your job. If you don't get there, I've done mine. Simple. But that's just my opinion I guess...
Don't worry about whiners when deciding your character build, just RP accordingly to how you build it.
