Anyone Ever Had This Problem?

Post by NecroZombie » Tue Mar 01, 2005 11:14 pm

My wife's NWN just recently started messing up.

Upon first load, and after any transition she gets a "nwmain.exe - No CD" error.

~ Her CD is in
~ She has uninstalled/reinstalled NWN
~ The No CD hak (for 1.65) doesn't have any effect (meaning the no cd hak works, but doesn't fix the problem)
~ defrag/scandisk/turning off all non essential background programs- Nothing

Just started happening after she uninstalled Norton Av.

Anyone ever had this issue, or know how to fix it? It appears that she is having the same problem as these people http://nwn.bioware.com/forums/viewtopic ... +-+No+Disk but no one seems to know how to fix it.

Any help would be appreciated... so she will get off my ass!

Download Daemon tools, burn an image of the NWN cd onto your HD and run it from that.

Does this make it play smoother than the regular way?

No idea, but I know that I used to occassionally get a NoCD error very similar to the situation described even when it was blatently in the drive. D-tools fixed that.

I make no promises that it'll work, but it's worth a shot :D

Besides a complete reinstall, The above suggestion would be easier. I had the problem and it is becasue of Norton, the second devil, Antiviris. Switched to McAfee, and have had no problens at all.
