need some help as well
I have it downloaded, my problem is MySQL. I downloaded the free one, and launched the setup.exe from winzip, it said it would do what is needed, and created folder. However, not all the files were extracted to the folder. Is that all there is, should I not have some type of MySQL icon to launch the interface or what? As you can tell this is not my field
I realize this is not a support forum for MySQL, so if no ones wants to help, so be it. If you can offer some help, please do. I really would like to use what you have made, as it sounds as good and possibly better then what BW will come up with given what they have said thus far on the topic.
Thanks - Silent

Silent, have a look at my answer on the Bioware board. I experienced the same surprise like you when I installed MySQL on Windows for the first time. The setup programm does install an icon, it's just a bit hidden... goto Start->Programs->Startup. A shortcut to MySQLAdmin should be there. Click on it and the database will load in the background. Make sure you install MySQL Control Center, too. It makes your live a lot easier.
What language version is nwserver.exe ? If it's anything other than english you should send me a screenshot, please (before the module loaded and after that).Originally posted by DreaM
I've realized that the extender doesn't detect my module load, after module load, it keeps saying "waiting for the module".

I must be doing this wrong then, I only see adobe gamma loader.exe and ms office under start up. If i can just use access, and its already here (i have xp pro) then i might as well do that? Sorry if these questions are obvious. I can verify if the access driver is present if I knew where to look for it (do'h), then maybe I could use that instead. Once I do this once and get it bookmarked i will be fine if you have the patience.

Ok, I have at least verified that I have your extender in the right place. I loaded, and it opens the server.exe, I load the module and I get the "Server ready. Running init stage..." text, but then of course it does not find anything and shuts itself down after say 20 seconds. So now I just need a access or MySQL db named NWN correct?

Did not see "the other" doc, trying it now. ThanksOriginally posted by Papillon
Please follow the instructions in "IV. Setting up a database for NWNX". That section describes everything you need to do to set your access database up.

LOL
This should be illegal man!
So yeah, my database is working and I got the expected messages. Thanks (for you patience moslty). I haven't got the time to test with my own data today, but will soon once I get the erf installed and maybe store some NPC conversation variables or whatever.
I will report with my success story and any suggestions or problems found. Thanks again.

Papillon,
I connect fine to the database (MySQL, ODBC) and I matched all my connections as they appear in the MySQL Control Center...
However, after every SQL Command in the Extender, I receive a
! SQL Error:
From what I can tell, I don't have proper rights to MySQL through ODBC somehow... i.e. it won't create the table... though I can't figure out why...
Any ideas?

I'm using your aps_demo mod, and I did recompile it...
I'm just stumped... I think it has something to do with permissions... but I can't be certain...
I've never used MySQL before, which we (TORIL) will need as we are developing a large initial mod for our PW (600 overland areas, 250 underdark, etc...)... but MySQL seems simple enough...

I'm having a problem. When I load the demo module, everything works correctly.
Stores and retrieves data.
When I integrated into my mod, the server loads up and says:
* Found 0 bytes for requests, 4096 bytes for responses
* Connecting to ODBC DSN nwn
* Init complete.
When I load the demo mod
it says
* Found 1024 bytes for requests, 4096 bytes for responses
What am I doing wrong?
