DO NOT UPDATE to 1.65

Post by Sindol » Mon Dec 13, 2004 7:59 pm

I've just been informed that NWN patch 1.65 was released. Do not update until the Avlis team has announced it is safe to do so, or you will find yourself unable to connect to Avlis.

There's no official ETA on this, but we will need to update the haks, so we're looking at a weeks delay at the least.

EDIT: Because many people seem unaware of this: you can revert your 1.65 installation back to 1.64 using the revert patch for your correct version. Pick it from the list here.
Follow instructions there carefully and you'll end up with version 1.64 which means you can play on Avlis.
There's no ETA for the update for Avlis yet, but it's probably somewhere next year. :P

Ooooh :( I was so looking forward to using IKD in dragon form in year or two  I think this fix make lot of scence and fix to Circle kick will fix flat footed issue, though not the targeting problem. Overall, this patch looks good.

Cripples my character. My highest AB now will only be 15. For a level 18 fighter type that is awful. I stuggle to hit anything as is, IKD was the only reason I could.

My goodness, the poor Team is still trying to get things back to normal from the last update, and we've got another one already?!?! Zort!

I've been on the recieving end of IKD spamming, and it is very dull. You just sit there with your character on the ground. They may as well cast level 6 bigby on you if they're going to do that. I'm very glad it'll be fixed.

..but that's not important..

What's important is that they're fixing shifters..

..again..

..maybe..

..hope they get it right this time.

Good grief! It doesn't seem all that long ago, that we updated to 1.64, and now there is a possibility of a 1.65 update too.
Will these updates ever end? *points a concerning finger at Bioware* Heh heh. :P

Heh.. I'm mostly looking forward to this little gem:
- Slight change of behavior for Attacks Of Opportunity. Now if have an invisibility effect applied (e.g. Invisibility, Sanctuary) you will no longer make attacks of opportunity.

There are SO MANY great fixes in this patch it's amazing... some of the most egregious problems in NWN are fixed, it's great :)

IKD spam may be my chief weapon, but I'm quite glad to see it fixed. It will still be decently effective, but it has a downside now, thankfully.

Fixed an issue where the DM's screen could end up being permanently blacked out after the DM unpossessed a creature that was inside an AOE darkness effect.

and dont forget this one....
Circle Kick should no longer try to target creatures that you can not reach (which was making you become flat footed).
that should help out a few people and I might take it too if it works. Please let us know when we update

Erm.... just out of pure interest/curiosity, please could someone tell me what IKD means? I've seen it written down a few times already, and now it's sparked off an interest in wanting to know.

Thanks.

I have to say that this patch was expected. This is what suprised me. I do not recall which team memeber said it but that after every big patch there is another patch to fix what the big patch broke. The question is wheither this is a big patch to and they will need another to fix anything that breaks in this one.

Any ETA on this yet?
