For a free archiving program, have a look at 7zip (http://www.7zip.org)

Its able to extract the conventional ZIP, CAB, RAR and ARJ files, but also has its own format developed to get the best compression ratios around (This format is 7z).

Source code is also available for this product as its released under the Lesser GPL

Pekarion: where can we get these.. robes If I may ask? :d
Hell_Fire: you can get them if you yell out DAGATH SUCKS on the DM channel ;)
Wulgara|SaintOfTheCone: I've found that yelling "Dagath sucks" on the DM channel actually just turns you into a penguin. Hell, I've found that smarting off to Hylia does that, too. :-P

I just downloaded 7-Zip that fixed the problem I was having of not being able to unpack the Univeral_hak

One step closer to getting back on.

Ok, I'm almost tecnologically illiterate, but I seem to have erased the original tlk file, and Bioware won't update without it. Where might I be able to find it, so I can splice it in, update, and then replace with the new one?

client and server version doesnt match!when i try to log on

Post by downsystem » Thu Dec 30, 2004 3:34 am

log on to the mikona server. Im a nevbie and im not sure how acurate i got when it comes to placing all these rediculous hak tlk files and such.

I got one thing i notice that i thought was odd, that i saw after i placed the files. Some how a (orc camp) windows media file wound up in the hak files. Im guessing that this is not suppose to be there. If im correct and its not where does it go?

NWN only uses the hakfiles from the Hak-folder. Therefore the orc_camp.wmf on the one hand only is wasted harddrivespace keeping it in that folder, on the other hand there won't be any problems keeping it there. You should check the "music" folder. I think orc_camp.wmf should be placed there, but even if you don't move it from hak to music there should be no problems playing avlis - well at least if you dont want to hear the orc-cave sound

But i am not sure if orc_camp is a music- or a sound-file.
AFAIK music-files are no *.wmf files. Therefore it should be a sound-file and you will miss the background-sounds entering areas where this file is used.

But i think you ...

1) ... should ask this in General Discussions or in Ask the Team
2) ... should wait for an answer of someone who "knows" instead of begnar who only "thinks"

Are you running 1.64 or did you update to 1.65? There is an unpatch to go from 1.65 to 1.64

Application and various other references

Post by Newt » Thu Jan 06, 2005 5:37 am

The application to join still references v1.62 at the bottom where it mentions downloads. After a little downgrade/upgrade action and poking around the Gamespy list to find the correct version I got farther in connecting. Now I'm just waiting for a password to join in the fun :)

portal.php?getpage=hakpaks

It is on the Downloads/Haks page, near the bottom, between Drylands and Deglos. The first two links worked for me, alt2 did not.
