for a further impression on how the old days ewhere, see the thread "it sure sucks to be a farmer outside Mikona" or so approximately. :) log on, spend 3 hours picking up... and some people wonder why the war still goes on. Can'r be overpopulation, not with the deathcount on that road.

Nowadays items go poof if they are on the ground and no one picks them up after a while. Sure, it's not going to clean up EVERYTHING, but you won't realize the work it's doing unless we actually shut the cleanup off. Trust me. It's being cleaned.
Have you guys speed up the clean script? I was in Wilderness yesterday, and after a big fight i tryed to pick up the loot, but i wasnt fast enough. The fight may have taken 5-10 minues in real time, and I didnt leave the area. The only thing I did was to rest before I tryed to pick up the loot. It dissappered right in front of me, will that happen with a body too if you die in such fight?

No we haven't touched anything. Publish freeze, yah? I don't think that death corpses get eaten by the code because they are plot. It's only a suspicion right now that hasn't been proven.

Corpses don#t get eaten in my observation. If the corpse gets destroyed, the resulting bag may, though. At least I observed that once...
had to destroy body because corpse was wedget in a cleft between a bolder and a wall and was thus unreacheable from the opening side... Then had to flee before returning batch of dragons...
came back, bag had vanished...

All items are removed.
All placeables that have the tag "body bag" are removed.

I'm not sure, if corpses do have this tag, though... but I think so. (NPC corpses of course, not player corpses)

I sat around guarding a corpse for over 20 minutes and it stayed there the whole time. I think we are okay.
