What is the relationship between the NWN and Avlis crafting?

Do skill points in any of the old crafting skills influence the Avlis system (ie, would armour crafting help one be a better tailor, etc)

or the item creation feats, like brew potion- do these work as usual?

I'm not digging for recipies, of course, I've seen enough of the Avlis forums now to see that this is not permitted. But how does it actually work? Can you use the brew potion feat to make a potion quickly, or is the recipie the only way?

Recipe only, as of right now. No Bioware Crafting Skills are used at all.

Actually I think there is less than Zero relation.. the Avlis crafting system I believe pre-dates the Bork-o-ware crapting system.

Any points taken in any of the Bioware skills are wasted...the only exception is that I believe one or more of the other Copap worlds use them.. Avlis does not....there was talk that MAYBE....SOMEDAY...we might use the points to help determine success in a particular avlis craft.. but that is very very very back burner issue right now....

The relationship hasn't been so hit since Avlis Crafting called NWN Crafting a 'fat ho' and slept with her boyfriend...

And then there was the incident where they both wore the same robe to the HotU release party! Whoo! Catfight!

So the way to learn to make stuff is common sense, and joining crafting guilds, then?

And, just to be sure I understand, this includes all the magical item creation feats, right? It would be useless to take craft wand, or brew potion, or scribe scroll- all are handled with Avlis' own crafting system. Correct?

correct, you can also add asking around IC. people outside guilds also share information sometimes.

and correct, you can't use any of those feats on avlis.
