Item/weapon Crafting/modifaction?

First of all, I'd like to say hello as I am a new player. Love the server so far, but I have a few questions reguarding item and/or weapon crafting and/or modification. I have tried to ask these questions to a DM, but I have been unable to contact one via DM channel.

So I've noticed that the NWN skills Craft Armor and Craft Weapon have been disabled. At least to my character. First question...

1. Are these skills in fact disabled meaning the points I have put into them were wasted, or are they only available in some certain crafting room somewhere?

I have also run all over Le'Or TNanshi searching for such a crafting room where (on most servers) you will find forges, anvils and other such placables used in weapon and armor crafting, but I have not found them. I have found the forge next to the dwarf merchant in the market area, but there were no instructions or clues (that I could find) as to whether this was what I need to craft/modify weapons and armor. Second question...

2. Does such a room exist? If so, where might I find it, or clues to it's where-abouts?

I do not know if this is the correct forum for this question, or if this has been covered before. If it is not, I am sorry. And if it has, again I am sorry.

They are disabled everywhere in Avlis.

2. There is no crafting room.

The closest thing to this would be crafting halls you can find. I know theres one in Z'vidurath and one in SilverFalls. The forge you discovered is "interactable", just click it and it opens up a menu of things to craft.

You'll need to figure out the recipees in game, but the low level ones for everything but alchemy is pretty obvious. You can also join guilds and get acces to their private crafting tools/supplies and recipees. Or you can become an apprentice and recipees that away. Finally you can ask people, but many don't know and other may not be inclined to tell you.

the crafting system is disabled all around Avlis. It runs its own code for crafting equipment. You'll learn experience when you craft items, not by investing points.

However, your points are not really wasted. If you go to Rockhome (another server), you'll see that you can transform your equipment. But the difficulties are such that you don't really need many points.

Just ask around Le'Or, and maybe you'll run into a character that will be helpful to yours in learning about crafting.

for the most part DM's are happy to answer questions, but if at all possible, try to find your answers here on the forums instead of ingame....its not that we dont want to, or wont answer any questions you have.. its just that our time is limited and we like to concentrate on making the world live if we can.

As has been said prior to this, yes those skill are useless (for now) on Avlis, they may be useful on other Copap worlds if you decide to do any plane travelling, so its up to you to decide if you will put any points into them or not.

A crafting room per se, doesnt exist...instead our various merchants will be happy to rent you their equipment if you wish to do some crafting, so when you find an appropriate piece of equipment, for example. the forge you mention... or an anvil.. or other item, most of our npc's will charge a tiny fee of some gold to use their device....this is automatically deducted when you access the menu for crafting...

As for instructions on how to craft....thats an IC affair and you will have to get instruction in -game no ones gonna give you spoilers in the forums...there are several crafting guilds, so you might keep an eye out for one of their guild houses.. or you could perster someone you see bent over an anvil

Its as good a forum as any I guess, but most of the hints you are looking for are not oging to be found on the forums.. we like it to stay in game...

There is such a place on the Le'Or server, in fact it's the most fully-equiped one on any server I've found. Most people you meet will probably know where it is. Ask in game.
