Dirty Fighting Feat

Post by Fifty » Fri Jul 16, 2004 7:57 pm

How does this work? It says in the description that it is automatic. You can elect to use a dirty fighting move get 1D4 extra damage, but lose all other attacks in the round.

Now, I assume this "automatic" bit is an error?

Basically, if you are a BAB 11 fighter who would normally have 3 attacks, you only get one attack if you use dirty fighting right? But you can choose whether or not to use it yes?

You select it on the radial menu(on by the hotkey). It is not automatic. You sacrifice all other attacks to deal +1d4 damage, so you're essentially getting a +2 to +8 strength bonus at the expense of your other attacks.

except it only affects damage, not your to hit roll. seems a bit pants. better for low level characters on a shitty BAB scheme maybe, mages for example.

This thread title was bugging me...

but back onto the [proper] topic...

Isn't that exactly the sort of people who generally fight dirty - the weaker ones who would lose if they fought fair?

dirty fighting is for low lvl fighters. It is useless long term. But at lvl 1, with studded leather and a short sword to work with, +1d4 damage rocks.

That is my opinion, not nessasarily anyone else's opinon, might just be, but that would be a coincodence, and damnit, sometimes the crap I write is not even my opinion either.

I would have thought it would be best for low level rogues actually, as they get into combat more often than mages, but have a low BAB and can use it effectively for longer.
