Greetings...and a question from a new player to Avlis

Hello folks,

Blondmane Kneeslasher, a young, golden haired dwarf has just made his way to Elysia from Galdos, to search out the clerics of Gorethar.

ooc: I have a small question and ask for advice.

I have 3 sons that also play NWN and share this computer. When I installed all the required HAKS for Avlis, my son who plays a level 35 Fighter/Cleric on Blackstone Keep noticed half his abilities, items and feats were blanked out. They work still, but they are have all descriptions blanked out.

Now I assume, these abilities aren't allowed on Avlis, no problem with that, but how do I stop it affecting my sons game?

its a problem with the dialog.tlk for more information one of the team members could help you with this.

Did you use one of the installation programs here on Avlis?

Aye, I used the US mirror site and installed the downloads from there, 3 in all.

AvlisUniversalAndCoPaPHaks.exe
AvlisDialogTLK.exe
AvlisCustomContent25.exe

Would be grateful if somene could post a workaround. if not I will have to try two seperate NWN installations, one for Avlis, and one for Blackstone Keep.

i've got a feeling you downloaded the wrong files. Not your fault, but someone on the team really needs to remove all the obsolete files from the ftp site.

Thanks for the guidance folks, the post Kinx referred me too cleared that problem.

Reading the other posts in the various forums cleared my other problem, which was not getting feats when I should have (on other servers not on Avlis). There was a file in my overide folder.

However, I do have one last problem, some prestige classes still show as 'Bad Stref'....any ideas?

I still have that too. It doesn't stop them from functioning, just displays the names odd at times.

what feats do Bad Strref's get?

Go to your NWN\override folder. Check if there is a file in there called classes.2da. If it's there delete it, it should only be included within the hakpaks and not in override. You shouldn't be able to see it unless you crack open the haks.

This file also from an old installer and royally fucks up some classes, just because it's an old version. The classes back then had different numbers too, so that could cause the bad StrRefs.
