Just a quick question from an avlis noob
Hi everyone, first time posting here, i came from a world that had the CNR crafting system, but that was pretty much the best part of the server, ive been reading some posts and would like to know what kind of crafting system Avlis has, also, whats the deal with dieing, do you do some kind of quest, cause someone named Mooge came to Avlis and posted some of the features on the other servers forums, if he's reading this, then, be glad you came here and never go back

Short answers:
Avlis has it's own crafting system in which you basically build up crafting levels by practising and gaining crafting xp for successfull crafting attemps, much like you get monster xp for successfull monster-bashing attempts. These craft-xp are completely seperate form adventuring xp, and crafter-levels have no interaction with class-levels. There are several disciplines of crafting, like weaponmaking, alchemy (potions) and tailoring, all to be developed separately. Crafting itself is done by collecting the right ingredients and processing them at the right crafting devise like an anvil, sawhorse or alchemist table.
Avlis has one-area death-planes for each alignment (basically symbolizing the outer planes) where you go after you die. On that death-plane there is always a way to get back to the land of the living on your own power through a small quest (of course you can always be raised/resurrected by partymembers). When you die, you lose lvlx50 XP, but on some of the deathplanes (don't think all, but am not sure) you can do an extra quest to regain the lost experience before returning to Avlis.
Note that both these thigns are Avlis-specific, and not implemented CoPaP-wide (CoPaP is the PW-collective that have more or less linked their world through portals to create one massive playing field).
Hope this helps, and welcome to CoPaP.

Not true. You get crafting XP from crafting and regular XP. You can gain levels as, for example, a fighter purely through crafting.Khaelindra wrote:Short answers:

What i say is true, and your statement is also true. Craft xp and adventuring xp have no interaction, they do not count towards each other, nor does having much of one influence how much you get form the other. Same goes for crafter levels who have no relation whatsoever with normal levels, be it in compatibility, XP-penalty or other level-issues.Fifty wrote:Not true. The act of crafting itself gives you (varying amounts of each of) both types of XP, of which the crafting XP is influenced by your skill in Lore (high Lore is more crafting XP for the same craft).
