World Builder Guide (and/or Adventurer Guide)

Post by Prophet » Sun Jun 23, 2002 3:57 am

Has anyone purchased either of these books? I was thinking about picking up the World Builder guide. It looked like it had some usefullness in it. The Adventurer Guide seemed to just be a guide for the single-player game, which I don't really need.

Anyway, just thought I'd ask others' opinions before I dropped $20 on it. Thanks!

Worldbuilder guide is good to teach you the scripting language, but it tells you almost nothing about how to use the toolset.

I agree with Orleron, the World builder guide has a good section on scripts and a very basic "hand holding" beginning tutorial on the toolset. It doesn't really go into much detail and majorly sucks as a reference because it doesn't haven an index and doesn't give you any details on each feature.

On a side note, it was $15 when i bought it with the game. At that price, it was worth it just to get my feet wet a bit, but It already outlived it's usefullness aside from the script guide which i haven't delved into yet.

I'm relying heavily on it, as I am not a coder, but I'm finding that with that guide I am able to figure out pretty much any code I want.
