Does anyone notice differance from dwarven/orc darkvision and spell like darkvision from eith spell or SD feat?

I use the spell darkvision and I can see fine in caves and such. I play mostly elves, but they have lowlight vision and not darkvision. Still I can see a major improvement when I use darkvision in caves that are too dark to see in otherwise.
It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.

Has this ever been posted in bug report? If this is true it will make SD second level absolutly worthless. THere are three things gained on second level uncanny dodge, evasion, and darkvision. The only problem is that if you are a rogue you already have the first two feats anyways and so darkvision is basically it.

gaining a level is never useless.storminj wrote:Has this ever been posted in bug report? If this is true it will make SD second level absolutly worthless. Never argue with an idiot, they'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience

I will recant the word "worthless" for that was a little emotionally skewed. I will just say that the prestige class does not contribute much in to character development for rogues taking levels in SD. If the darkvision is broke, one thing I thought would be awesome for RP mostly, I would be extremely dissapointed.

I agree completely. In the single player campaigns I have a Shadowdancer as well and I found that Darkvision doesn't seem to work at all. Items with that property give the sight increase fine, but take off all gear and the innate Shadowdancer version seems broken.storminj wrote:I will recant the word "worthless" for that was a little emotionally skewed. I was also disappointed with how much the Shadowdancer and rogue skills seem to overlap, especially the bonus feats like Improved Evasion, etc. It makes that PrC extremely attractive to fighter and ranger characters, but after HiPS I think a rogue multiclass is much less attractive.
Don't get me wrong, it's still a cool RP choice for a rogue character and HiPS is sweet, but I hate how everything else is redundant.

See this whole idea has been greatly argued recently for many feel this way, and act on it. Instead of decideing they are doing SD for roleplaying reasons alone, thus takeing lvls in spite of them being less effective then other class combinations. Not saying anything about you or anyone else that IS taking shadowdancer for the flavor. Just saying that the class is a bit backwards in that the best ability is lvl 1 and the other nine lvls are little more than flavor. Thus the shadow dancer class rewards metagaming (taking just 1 lvl for HIPS), while punishing roleplayers (better off takeing rogue), I think this a bad thingTMstorminj wrote:I will recant the word "worthless" for that was a little emotionally skewed.
