I don't think it is right, but it's the only way to combat a good rogue/ranger

With True Seeing, do you mean the NWN version, or the version that boost spot with 2xlvl as it is on Avlis now?

The version as it is now on Avlis, i.e the spot-boosting version.

I'll stop using TS when every shadow poofter stops sneaking everywhere. People sneaking all the time makes you very paranoid.

I had a case in the bugbear den up in NE m'chek. There was a shadowdancer character occasinly disappearing then reappearing. A few times said character drew groups of bugbear cheiftains to me.
Now. Having said that this person may not have realized I could see him most of the time. Since then.....well...

There is the option missing: TS is fair too weak currently for anybody but extremely high level casters. Hide/MS makes a ridicule of any person trying to live on normal spot.

And why are there so many shadowdancers all of a sudden? Not simply because it's Kewl to be half undead, trust me.
ashzz: at the very core of the problem is that good characters and organizations can do much more EVIL in the name of good than evil can do evil.

I think this would be a more interesting poll: How many of the people that voted for "I hate it, it shouldn't be able to uncover hidden opponents" play a rogue or ranger??

From the manual:-

Shadowdancers are nimble artists of deception...Not quite half Undead but what do I know?

Despite their link with Shadows and trickery, Shadowdancers are as often Good as Evil.

Their skills are functions of deception and distraction, using hightened skills to use all available methods of hiding. They do get sort of mystical eventually (shadow daze, Summon Shadow, Shadow Evade) but nothing more then other classes get really (magic, Ki, Divine etc...)

Shadowdancers are supernatural.

In any event, my main is a mage and I voted that True Seeing is too good and should be nerfed. I'd like it to go back to PnP value.

I'd also like to see HiPS moved up to 10th level.

I just quoted from the manual and still you assign a supernatural label?

They are street illusionists in a world where frikking real magic exists! They are able to use shadow and manipulate it. Now if that is the case are magic users and clerics supernatural too?

Give SD's a break!

Dude, don't worry. People are always harping about one thing or another. No one's going to take your SD levels away. Let's go make a few wemic bard/barbarian/RDDs and give people something else to gripe about.
