Good opportunity for all of you to test the new bazaar-stall rental system.

Umm... Nighthawk's in Britain AFAIK, and I'm in Japan. And we were the ones who scheduled all but one of the trade fairs.

Not everyone will be able to attend all the fairs. I agree that maybe this one should be on a Saturday, even though that means I won't be able to attend. But also remember that we try to schedule the fairs so that the maximum number of merchants and customers can come. I'm afraid often it's the majority that rules, because more customers=more profits, which makes Hurine happy.
Um, you what? Hello! *waves hands*

I organised the first, second and fourth ones!

Edit: Actually you said "schedules", not "organised", so I will give you that.. just

I attended several, but I don't think I actually organised any.
Life is never as bad as you think it is, although that doesn't help at the time.

I agree that scheduling events between diferent timezones is always dificult. I think in general the players do a great job of scheduling when it is best for everyone. My suggestion for the trade fair is to not have it every month on the same day of the week, at the same time. That way people who can't go this month can make it next month etc.....

Yeah we do....really...It just that we're to self-involved to care

I hope me or one of my alts can make it...remains to be seen.

Okay, things got a little muddy somewhere in the middle of this thread...

What day and what time is this going to take place?

Near as I can tell it's set for Sunday 1400GMT.

That is what I'd assume. Its a little late now to officially announce the time for Saturday.

As a courtesy, I'd like to have a little more forewarning when these come up. I know this week's was largely done at the insisence of a player, but I'd like to have this on the map and known for a full week before it actually happens.

For some simple reasons: 1. there are a lot of other events that get scheduled for the weekend, if we know ahead of time, we can schedule around them instead of on top of. 2. I need to have time to make products without feeling rushed. In the past fairs I've sold out of potions in the first 2 hours and tomorrow I anticipate having less stock than at previous fairs due to the short notice.

3. There was one fair where the announcement went up during the night when I was sleeping. I woke up to check the boards only to find that there was a fair. I went oh shit and logged on. If I had any kind of warning whatsoever, I could have set my alarm and got there quite a bit earlier. Less than 24 hour notice is just plum rude in my book unless there are serious extenuating circumstances.

anyway, just some feedback, thoughts and suggestions.

Well the one that happened at short notice was supposed to be that way. We didn't decide to do it ourselves until last minute.

I guess some people expect DMs to turn up and help out but I was happy on that occasion just to make it an opportunity to sell soem stuff at short notice.

As we have everyone's attention let's make the fair

1st trade fair Sunday 11/16----notice went up Thurs 13th

2nd trade fair Sunday 11/23----notice went up Wed the 19th

3rd trade fair SATURDAY 29th---notice went up friday 28th

I really didn't have a problem with your impromptu fair. I showed up and there was only a little going on. The 3rd fair was the one I remember having really short notice on.

Go ahead and have the fair this weekend, but as I've given in feedback in other threads and have said here already, I"d like to start having a week's notice to make preparations and plans, both IC and OOC.

I think it's better to have IC posts in the taverns prior to trade fairs anyway. Not everyone would look here for an announcement. If I would not be told about it, I would definitely have no idea about it being planned.

Sorry folks, we normally do do IC notices for these things. However, it was a actually non-member of SATF (South Avlis Trade Federation) that started this thread requesting a trade fair... and the thread sort of got continued.

Also, as has been noted some of the fairs have been at short notice. The reason for this was due to the difficulty of getting suitable times from all members and DMs and other people. In the previous cases were short-notice was given it was usually a case of "well hell, lets do it then otherwise it won't get done at all".

We (members of the SAFT) will endeavour to ensure that all future announcements are done IC and in sufficent time.

Sorry for the confusion about this one, we will try to do better in future :)

I'd like to point out to those asking for an IC post that this started out as an IC post and got moved because it fell to OOC.. :)

Are just your answered prayers

Actually I didn't know that - I only saw it in its OOC location.
