Rapid shot for crossbow

A character I have now gets 3 attacks when using a longbow, same as his base number of attacks. I am unsure how a crossbow works though. Is it only 1 attack per round or 1 attack less then base per round or another option. And how does Rapid shot affect it. Does it make the crossbow as quick as a normal bow?

I had a look on the forums but couldn't see anything and my brother has got my manual so I cannot look it up. Need the info for my next level to determin what I do..

with SoU was introduced the new feat called Rapid Reload for crossbows specifically.

with this feat you get the normal number of attacks per round as other weapons. without it, a crossbow only gets 1 attack per round.

Rapid Shot only affects regular bows, not crossbows
