New player looking for world history

Hi everyone I registered a little while ago but haven't really played latly because i'd like to catch up a little more so i can make a better background for my character.
What posts should i read that would help me catch up on the history of Avlis?

If someone could place some links for the most important posts that would be great (by most important i mean are there any species that are at war with others, and things that would/should effect my charactor immediately)

Kronos4hm,

Welcome to Avlis! I would strongly recommend you start off by reading all the links under World on the left hand side of the home page. This area is designed to give new and existing players key information about Avlis and it's history.

Once you've done that start using the search to answer specific questions you have. If you cannot find answers this way feel free to post to the boards. We have a large team and an even larger player base who will be happy to point you in the right direction.

While I was intending to be funny by posting this way, in all seriousness, I do highly recommend reading every link off of the above link, twice or more if you have the time and patience. Rarely a week goes by that I don't go back and read something from these pages, because heavens knows I can't remember it all. Vicky gave some good advice, too. Try a search, see if you can find it, and if not, post the question. You're likely to get an answer from someone who is less of a smartass than me.

Or you could just do what I did and be a lazy bastard

Never read all the world info except for what I saw as really important and what I could find about the Big 9 and some of the lesser Gods to determine my choice of God since I play a Cleric. All the rest I learned playing on Avlis.
