i need some advice on me character levels

Post by Xeo » Thu Dec 11, 2003 8:56 pm

I am a Barbarian lvl 7

For my Character i would like to get a Companion

Eg a Bear

I know ranger lvl 7 you can gain this feat and have a Bear... preveous server i had a ranger lvl 11

But i am not sure on Exp and multi

I know what feats the Barb gets and i think i can lose those for this and not be a prue barb

Basicaly If i start on ranger then is it 1 - 2 1000 exp then lvl 3 3000 exp and so on... Been reading up on this and i am getting confused

Kanga is from Tyedu as most will know from RP and hes of the White-Bear clan.... so to have a Bear with him i would like to have one adn think the RP would be great for me adn for others to join in...

So advice please on this not to or to go for it and how i should do this.. now or wait for my barbarian lvls to get higher?

Plaese help as lvls are rare and not to be wasted

Thank you guys

No if you are 7th level now and take your 1st level of ranger (i.e. 7-1 barb/ranger) when you get to 28,000 xp you will not get another level until you reach 36,000 xp (i.e. 9th level)

ok, Rangers get a companion starting at level 6. You could mulitclass into Ranger, your ranger level would be 1. On the 1000xp, 2000xp ect, that is the CHARACTER progression. You would use your overall level to determine how much experience you would need.

please realize that unless multiclassing is carefully done, you might end up hurting your character more than helping it. And also realize you may suffer XP penalties depending upon your race-favored class. If you are human/half-elf or half-orc, no problem.

Multiclassing is a serious choice and not one to take lightly for a great number of reason, but ultimately its your character, and you should do what you want.

If you are doing it for the familiar, i would suggest a Druid, sorcerer or wizard level.

To stay as pure a barbarian as possible and still get the familiar..

As you are a halfling if you multiclass in Ranger you will be taking a 20% hit to the XP you receive....

mmmmmmmm

this is a tough one as a Bear would be great for Kanga on a RP lvl

But the exp pen and losing high lvl barb feats ....

I think i must just keep it as it is..but i still itching for it

But halfling got probs being a Barbarian anyway, with xp pen aswell....

I think after this i stay just sole barb

Is that best in your expereinces?

it doesnt really matter how well you do in combat on avlis. i mean please, your already a halfling barbarian.

however i will suggest that you go with a 9 ranger 11 barbarian combo.

this gives you good ranger feats and a few spells if yu have the wisdom and the companion, while still giving you a reasonable amount of barbarian levels.

in the end on avlis it doesnt really matter. do what your character would do. you want the bear, take ranger levels.

-I thought the favored class thing was disabled on Avlis.

-If I were in your situation and I was at least a little neutral, I would think of taking a level in druid. That is, of course, if you follow any of the appropriate gods for druids. I think (though I don't play a druid) that you could get a bear at 1st level. You would have to gain more levels as a druid for the bear to get stronger, but you could just keep on a barbarian, and you would have him around for roleplay. As far as I know, Arcane casters cannot choose a bear as a familiar.

Stop thinking about what you want for your character (fast exp... a big bear... the best possible feat combinations...) and think about what your character would want.

If your character wants a gods-damned bear, get him a gods-damned bear... and who the hell cares if you have an xp penalty.

My highest level character didn't get to level seven in a little over a month like your character did (it was more like 5 or 6 months)... and I'm still just as happy with him.

This world is about roleplaying.

Druid if you have wisdom 11+. Verossa is a very good choice for a barbarian.

Ranger is your wisdom is 10 or less.

Good luck with your bear.

As a druid you could someday get Bear shapeshifting too. That might be even closer to the concept you are looking for.
