Application Approval
I submitted an application last weekend and still have not heard from anyone on Avlis. I got a confirmation email stating the application had been received and would take 24 to 48 hours to process. I have really been looking forward to checking out Avlis, especially after perusing your boards for a few days. It would be a shame to waste this whole long weekend...
Could someone please look into this and send me a PM?
Player name: Daerthe
Thanks!

I had the same problem ...
No mail came into my account .. the way he explained it was that mail from his acc. is filtered out by hotmail, yahoo etc. Then he sent it from his hotmail account, and only then did I recieeve it ..
Don't worry, you'll get one.

Welcome to Avlis guys.
We get a lot of posts like this. In fact my Application took at least a week to be approved. I was so impatient that I sent in two more during that time. Eventually, I got accepted three times and I still get three copies of each Update email from Orleron.
Believe me - it will happen eventually
Most of all - when it does happen and you get into Avlis, you will never look back. It will be worth waiting for.
Once you start, there is no escape. You will be assimilated.
Easier to say than to do, but please be patient.

Life is never as bad as you think it is, although that doesn't help at the time.

Dont' forget to apply at CoPaP. I just got my acceptance email from there today. Life is good and from what I understand over. So to all my fellow Newbie's apply everywhere. The Gods will shine upon you and all will be ok.
Quick note:
Wilderness=bad & quick death
LeOrTNanish=amazing ... never made it out of City for the hour I had a chance to get online
Hints:
Plan on doing something that you can't get out of ... you'll get the email.
If you sit around checking email every 15 minutes like me till you have to goto work ... won't happen till you have to goto work.

I am going to have to try this a third time...
My husband applied on Saturday night and was approved by Sunday afternoon. However, the email didn't have Avlis in the title. It said the Confederation of Planes and Planets. Thought I would post this out here in case anyone else has this trouble when looking for their approval email.
I was scanning for the word Avlis in the email titles. As I receive over a hundred junk emails a day, I was searching very specifically and not reading every title. So I probably deleted it by mistake.
The good news is that I will too busy to play for the next week and a half with finals and such. So by the time this app goes through, I should have time to play.

I was gone until yesterday, Orl's e-mail was down, so he didn't know.

Fighters do it face to face, Rogues may do it from behind, Rangers can do it from a distance, Wizards do it from out of nowhere, Clerics may not do it at all, Barbarians may do it in a rage, Sorcerers can do it on a whim, Bards on a note, but Paladins have to pay for it!

Hey Daerthe, did your husband have to talk you in to playing Avlis, or was it the other way around? Just curious, as I have been trying to convince my wife to play without much luck. She plays PnP with me so I guess I shouldn't complain too much.

Malathyre, I have to laugh since it was actually the other way around in this case. We have both been playing NWN for some time now and decided to give online gaming a try together back in January. Though we have taken a couple sabbaticals from it when I get busy with my schoolwork. I find it can become too much of a distraction from my homework.Malathyre wrote:Hey Daerthe, did your husband have to talk you in to playing Avlis, or was it the other way around? I had heard about Avlis from some of the folks on my homeworld of Ea and decided to check it out. Hating to be alone in a foreign land, I coerced my husband to give it a try with me. Not that it took much arm-twisting though.

As for convincing your wife...not sure I can help you there. What I can tell you is that the two of us normally play together. It gives us a common hobby and an excuse to spend yet more time together. Perhaps the tale of another couple's success will convince her that it is worthwhile.

Thanks, I think her main lack of motivation is the cost it would require to make her computer viable for NWN...that and perhaps the fact that she hasn't played NWN before.Daerthe wrote: As for convincing your wife...not sure I can help you there. Anyway, welcome to Avlis and feel free to go out of your way to find me in game, especially if you start in Elysia. I play a female elf named Eloryn, and I would be more than happy to show you and/or your husband around, though I only play at most 2 hours a day so it may be hard to find me. Happy gaming!!
