Mikona Govt. Houses
It is not clear from the world info how the representatives in the noble, common and joint houses are chosen.
Is it direct election? Who votes for each house's reps? How regular are votes? Is it pretty rigged?

well i actively attempted to run for office for a very long time and never recived any DM feedback. even sent them a long plan typed up. i eventully just started roleplaying that i was in a temporaray postion, i waited month after month. i would just sit in the nobles house in goverment district in mikona day after day for about 2 and a half months i still didnt get any attention doing that either. eventully i gave up i now just say im an ex politician from mikona. i supose i coulda pushed the point but i didnt want to get anyone angry.

Actually Orleron typed up a description of the noble houses of Mikona just last month. Before that none of the DMs knew what to do with it (or more importantly, what not to do with it) either. In that case a hands of policy is unfortunately the only answer. In any case representatives of the noble houses make up the House of Nobles part of the government.
At the moment the inner workings of those noble houses is a bit obscure still, at least to the players. This is because we are planning some scripted quests into them in the future which will deal with a lot of politics and gaining favors and such. This of course means that we can't reveal too much here, or we would take the fun out of those quests. How much can be revealed is up to Orleron or the quest writers.
The common house I know shit about unfortunately. It's probably a delegation of some kind, but how it comes into existance is also a mystery to me. I specialised more in Elysian government workings.

So much fun,
yet so little time to enjoy it.

OK, let me give you some more details concerning M'Chek politics.

Now, I am not saying there is no future for all of you politician wannabes.
Come up with a way...
Remember that most PCs are not even M'Chek citizens. Which means that they probably do not even vote.

What stands so far concerning player politicians is a no go. Meaning, all politicians will be NPCs only. The main reason for this is that if we did have PC politicians, many laws would have to be created and you do NOT want to hear Orleron stating his opinion about this.Orleron wrote: Government: Noble Democracy.
The City of Mikona is the capitol of the nation of M'chek. The ones who rule the city are actually the rulers of the entire country although in practice it is not as clear.
There are two Houses of Government in the City of Mikona. The Noble House and the Common House. The Common House picks its representitives from among the commoners of the nation, although rarely do any of these commoners come from outside the city. Thus most of the concerns of the Common House deal with city matters. Rarely do they interfere in matters of national action or policy, although they do have the power to do so.
The Noble House is made up of representitives from two places: the Noble families of M'Chek, and the various large Temples represented in Mikona, namely the temples of Mikon, Dagath, Ptah, and Valok.
This house deals mainly with foreign policy issues and affairs. Although each individual Noble family has total control over their own estate, they are expected to represent a portion of their nation's interest. For instance, all of the major Noble families have personal armies and troops, but there is also a standing national army of M'Chek to which each noble is expected to contribute a certain percentage of its force.
The two houses of government are presided over by a Minister who executes decisions and carries out the task of administration, although they are liimited in their actions by the legislators. In addition to the Minister there is a War Commisioner who is the commander and chief of the standing army. This is a hotly contested position, that has been filled by either Nobles or reputable warrior generals.

Now, I am not saying there is no future for all of you politician wannabes.

I, uh, accidentally did not see that it had not started yet, so tonight i killed all the elysian merchants on the list, and most of the wilderness ones."
