Trying to access the console crashes NWN

Whenever I press the ~ key to access my in-game console in NWN, NWN freezes and crashes. Any idea whats wrong?

All I have in my override directory is classes.2da, and even without that it still crashes. Any clue as to what's wrong or, better yet, how I can fix it?

I had that exact problem this summer after upgrading my PC... wish I remembered exactly how I solved it, though. I'm certain it had to do with the video card settings and drivers (I have a Radeon 9700). You may want to turn everything off in game, and if that doesn't fix it, reinstall the drivers.
