I've finally managed to convince my roomate to start playing Avlis, and its looking like he is finally hooked (woo hoo!). Problem is we are playing through a router which uses a dynamic ip. If we play on different servers (i.e. I am in the Wilderness, he is in Elysia) everything seems fine, other than the occasional disconnect, but if we both play the same server we either get disconnected or, worse yet, leave clones behind.
We'd really like to play on the same server together, but until this is resolved it just isn't going to happen. Would it help if I were to buy my own IP addy from our provider? Any advice is welcome!!!
Router:
LinkSys EtherFast Cable / DSL router (4 port)
Model# BEFSR41

yes, thats exactly it. I have the same router I believe. For most of last year I lived with the guy who plays Arena Helerin. We had this bug for a while, then about an hour of searching various things revealed that this was indeed the problem.Maelstrom76 wrote:One of you just needs to change your port # in your nwnplayer.ini file to something else... here's my line...
Game Port=5122
This should get you playing, both at the same time. best of wishes.

Look in the
nwplayer.ini
for this line
Client Port=
Make sure that one of you has a different port, and you'll be set. I'd also
suggest not using server ports, if you plan on ever running one.
