Exactly as the title says, my Xbox controller that I've had for 7 years or so recently gave up and I'm looking for some recommendations for a controller/control-pad/game-pad type of thing for my PC.
So, what have you got, and what would you recommend?

Re: Looking for Controller recommendations
First recommendation would be to use any other console controller you might have lying around. Old or new, most can be adapted to be used with a PC.
Aside from that though, I'd also be interested in good alternatives.

I prefer the Playstation-ish button arrangement, so I got myself the 8bitdo Pro 2 - https://www.8bitdo.com/pro2/
Overall been very happy with it. It gets use for both PC and Switch. This brand also makes a bunch of other controller styles if you prefer the Xbox button arrangement or if for some reason you'd love something that feels like a Sega Genesis controller. The build quality feels pretty nice.

I prefer the PS4 controller over the Xbox S one.
Not tried the PS5 one.
I imagine Amazon will offer these.

Re: Looking for Controller recommendations
I've mostly used a PS4 controller for most of my controller-based gameplay. Highly recommend, got me through pretty much every Soulsborne title. An Xbox360 controller got me through a few plays of Skyrim too. You just need to make sure they're 1st party, I've had nothing but complaints when I used 3rd party options.
